Author Topic: Ugly brown spot  (Read 1361 times)

Hope someone can help. Recently a brown stain has appeared at the tube going to the #6 clyinder at its base where the acorn nuts are. Any advice as to what it might be and how to stop it?

sure can change your orings in there easy to do .. intake orings .. you need 6 of them

$12.50 for the set from here.  Great people to deal with.  I got my quick-disconnect from them.  These are much cheaper than Honda parts and higher quality material.

Yep, mine is doing exactly the same. Did not have a chance to replace the o rings yet. Thanks for the link, 1fast6, it will come in handy!  cooldude

its gasket tack used to hold the o-ring in the manifold during assembly, that is melting from engine heat. check the tightness of the acorn nuts 6.5 ftlbs., or 1/4 to 1/2 turn more than they are now.
use very short wrench, less chance to over tight

It certainly sounds like dried fuel, and since you stated it was around cylinder #6, I'd take a look at the vacuum line and petcock..
