Just did get back from a 100 mile ride on the treacherous "Chicken Tail"  its the longest east/west highway (not Interstate) we have in Florida...our one and only HWY 90...plenty of mountanous hillsides and forrested nature reserves...and...I have the patch to prove it!

Chris, ever ridden US 27 south of the big lake towards Miami? I think there was ONE slight bend in well over 50 miles! Nothin' but sugarcane, Everglades & strip mines for further than the eye can see!
Good thing is there is a payoff..... You're headed for the Keys!  cooldude

Been there done that.
We turned off the toll rd expecting gas at the exit, nope, so I figures what the heck head north on 27, surely there must be gas, nope, nothing but cane field, we saw a truck parked on the side of the road and stopped to ask them how much farther it was to gas... they were cane field workers, they didn't speak any English but they understood the universal sign for "need gas" they said 17 miles, but pulled a gas can out of the truck and insisted I take some fuel. They wouldn't take any money either. They saved my a$$.
I believe the cane fields are gone now, a lot of it went into the Everglades restoration project. Last time I went through there it was all swamp grass.
That was some time ago though, maybe I'm wrong?

I kept laughing and he thought I didnt believe him...........THEN he got it....LOL   Theres always one
