Anti Freeze - Coolant

My dealer says that my Honda car Anti Freeze is not good enough for my Valk?  He says it doesn't
have enough additives to prevent corrosion?  Is my dealer correct?

All antifreeze today has corrosion protection for aluminum.

Which is what you need.

I go a bit further and use premixed anti-freeze and distilled water at a 50/50 mix.

Make sure it is silicate free antifreeze.

The silicates can harm your water pump.

Water in its normal form has a certain amount of silicates naturally.

See the white stuff in the pot after you boil some water.

Also calcium and magnesium are main ingrediants of contamination in water that is not

a preferred thing to have in a chemical setting.

Silicate free anti-freeze and distilled water are good for the longevity of your motor.

I get mine from advanced autoparts stores.

Not what your dealer wants to hear.

he would sell you some at twice the cost.

Thanks for the reply Big Al.   The previous owner thought that the original AF was good enough to last for at least 10 to 11 years of longevity.

I use CAT extended life premixed antifreeze in mine.  No mixing, extended life, and silicate free.  Reasonable price too at my CAT dealer or Peterbilt!  Use it in my trucks.
