Just put the valk back together from spring maintenance. I even called in sick today to finish it! I put 25 miles on it so far. Had to be careful not to be spotted! It was good. I went with a Hankook K-106. Felt like a bike tire on the highway. Only did about 6 curves and a loop around the drive. I think I'll like it. Not sure what I liked more, the car tire, new speaker set up, or the truck stacks I put on. I cut off 5" of the muffler. Might have to move the speakers up so Kit can hear but we'll see. I text my HD bud and he challenged the car tire to the Dragon. Told him how Freebird does it all the time. He said 'whatever and hope you crash!' Need to email him Joes Dragon pix if anyone has some. I hope to put more miles on before I decide if this is for me or not.

Hankook K-106. It was $76 at a local tire dearler. Real neat tread pattern. I'm starting with 36 psi and will go from there. 1 up it felt ok.

I've had the same tire on for almost two years. Love the pattern and the price. It does have some low speed issues but handles well on the road and in curves.

When my sidecar comes off the Valk, so does the Triple Tread. The triple tread worked fine with the sidecar, at 35psi it had great wear, very good traction ,etc. but I keep thinking of those places where the asphalt has been rearranged by trucks stopping. I know it's a proven to run a car tire but, never the less, a Metzeler 880 goes on in place of the Triple Tread. I don't ride enough miles anymore to justify the longer life of a car tire. A car tire would probably dry rot before I wore it out, plus I'd forget to lube the splines every 12-15K. I guess that I'll lose my Dark Side number but such is life.

I've been running the hankook for over two years and like it very much. But like solo1 says it will get your attention when you pull into a rut at a stop. As for as riding in the mountains no problem and that includes the dragon. Crazyhorse

Hey Fudgie, i remember when we meet a few years back at the CBR, first question you ask me was how i liked my dark side tire. I liked it then but even more now, the first few hundred miles its on your mind, after that you learn to trust it more. I see no reason to ever go back for me anyway. I do tear mine down and do the splines every 10 to 15 thousand miles. Take care, see ya this summer.
