You dont have to have a reason to join.There is no reason NOT to join.
If you want to, please do. I took off work this morning to honor two Para-Rescue heros.
They need our support and its the right thing to do. With enough crap giong on and the underreporting they get, its nice to let them know we're here.
Not baggin on you or anybody. Its the toughest/coolest thing you can do on teo wheels.
And its the perfect use for a full face with a dark shade.

Now that I opened the link,,
Those sombitches are gonna disgrace one of the HEROS I honored today.
I urge all bikers to attend this and witness the beauty of the bikers holding flags.
And the coward protester vermin hiding behind police protection.
You dont have to even own a bike to participate. Just be an American who is thankful for this brave man's sacrifice and want to give back a shred of what we owe.
I have no problems.

I have done this duty 3 times.
Friends this ain't no duty, it is a HONOR.
All you have to do is show up and be willing and respectful to these families.
Most times it will break your heart, but it is worth it every time I do it.
Tears be darned.
It is really set up for retirees and people that are disabled or are rich or any body with the free
time that loves thier country and wants to give something back to those that give so much to us.
Give it a try.
My neighbor does a lot of these, he used to work at the plant I work at, but is retired.
He got me to go to 3 of these.
I usuallly am working and connot attend.

A little Info on the Original Patriot Guard Riders. National Need met National Pride in our Veteran Heroes. You need not ride a Harley as a lot of the People around the Country Do. The Motorcycle you ride is the LEAST IMPORTANT thing about these patriots we call Patriot Guard Riders. The Chapter I Ride with is Hondas, Kawasakis, Yamahas, and my lone Harley. I believe I will take the Valk next Time. American Made and American Ridden. Proud of that.

The few times I have been able to ride with the PGR, the citizens on the roadside waving the flag by far outweighs anything a few protestors can do. The families do appreciate what the PGR does so all who can, should participate.

The WBC was a no-show. Supposedly they were seen in the area but didn't
protest. I can't confirm that.
I went early (had to go to work) and guesstimated 3-400 people there, with
a LOT more headed that way. Local news said 2-3,000 showed up!! Probably
why the Westboro Cowardly False Prophets kept a low profile.

Update!!! Friend of mine (a LEO) talked to one of the officers that did security for the Westboro Liars. He said they actually DID some protesting but the Rolling Thunder, Patriot Guards, etc, kept them so well covered that even the news media didn't see them!! Ain't it great to be in east Tennessee!!!!!! P.S. On a sad note, the local paper reported that the "Patriot Hearts" was the mc group. |

We had a bunch of these paraders converge on the NAS gate at Flour Bluff because they wanted to believe that the Phelps bunch would actually come all the way to South Texas. All they accomplished was to get on the news and to physically threaten some legitimate war protesters. I hardly think that squelching Free Speech honors someone who died to keep us free.
I figure that if PGR were serious, they'd have left the huge flags at home and just kicked the crap out of the Phelpses the second time they showed up. I doubt there would have been a third time.
IMHO, of course.

First off, The PGR has to be invited by the family before we will set up and attend a mission. It is not something that is forced or that we just show up because we know about it. Only when we are invited Second, this is a non violent group that is not there to cause any trouble, but simply to honor the fallen hero and shield the family from any protesters that are trying to disrupt the services in a legal and non violent manner. I have been a member for about 3 years now and it is a HUGE Honor to get to stand for our Veterans and currently serving troops when we are called on. As was stated earlier, anyone can join. It is strictly volunteer and you make what missions that you can. There are no dues, meetings or any of the other things that go along with a "club". This is an organization of Patriots who are willing to "Stand for those who stood for us." You are not required to ride or own a motorcycle, but if you do it doesn't matter what kind it is. We have several local members that are avid scooter riders and ride them to the missions. Others ride Harleys, Kawis, Yamaha, Suzuki, and of course the best of the crew, Valks!!  You don't have to be a veteran or serve in the military to join. We have several veterans in our local group, but many like myself have never served. We just have a great appreciation for those who have and do serve. |
