Watch Out For The RR Crossing

Marine, Illinois

« on: June 18, 2010, 08:38:48 PM »

A few weeks ago, I posted in the tech board about a drive line noise and needed opinions and info.  A lot of you responded and that's great. All the info you gave me helped keep the MC shop guys honest, for sure.  I went there knowing a lot more than I did before I posted. I decided not to do the work myself. It was a u-joint, previous owner lack of maintenance, etc, etc, etc....Thanks to all for the help.

Glad you got it fixed........but theres no preventitive mainenance anyone can do to prevent a u-joint from going bad.  Some things just have to be chalked up to the "stuff" happenes category.  I suppose too many weelies, drag races, or packing extremely heavy women loads would be abuse that could be attributed to the PO........  Grin

This forum is a Godsend when it comes to knowledge of the Valkyrie.
With the oldest Valks approaching 14 years old & the newest models nearly 8, a vast wealth of mechanical experience has been obtained by the Valkyrie "family". Literally millions of miles have been put on these bikes & whatever can go wrong has. And it's all documented right here.
Gotta love it!

And to add to that, thank goodness we're using a real bbs now that is easily searchable versus the old one which was functional but painful to search efficiently...

Thanks to whomever made this incredibly fortuitous change.
