which means it's time to update the travel "log" .... if anyone is interested in following our travels this year.

This log started out as self defense against having to spend hours on the phone each day, assuring several people that I was alive and well.  It has grown a bit, and it seems that there  have been a surprising number of people that have followed it in the past.

So, if you're interested, here's the link:

You all be safe now.  I won't be there to protect your backside.

Make sure you get those bags and the trailer packed today, so that tomorrow you can say, 'Did you remember to pack that?  Where did you put ???? etc.

Hope to see you again real soon.   Will be watching the daily posts.

I'm about 1/2 packed, have major project to order materials for in the morning (it should be done when we get home!!), take dogs to kennel, and then start packing the trailer.

You know, if it weren't for the last minute, nothing would get done.

RJ, you're a wonderful tour guide!!

QOTFU, I appreciate the offer.  I think we've got enough folks looking after things right now -- the neighbor that's new to the observation job is doing great work - Wizard forgot to tell her about the pet sitter, and it wasn't long at all before she was calling to let us know about it!

I'll let you know if we need the boys........ or let them know.

5_19 is coming to Frisco tonight and we're KSU tomorrow on our way to meet HayHauler in Monroe, LA.  Yeah, I know, not really on the way, but it's an adventure, right?  Saturday to Chattanooga.  Sunday it's Cherohala, Dragon (as much as we can), 441, and BRP into Asheville where we meet up with Flat6 in NC who's riding in from Winston-Salem with his wife.  Monday it's BRP then up through VA, KY, and IN into MI where we'll hug the west coast up to Traverse City and over to Bellaire, ETA Wednesday afternoon.

Can't wait!    coolsmiley

So, there we were, TJ & I, minding our own business hauling ace east on I-20 just west of Minden, LA, when in our rear-view mirrors appears a HayHauler.  Got to ride the last 85 or so miles together!  Seems like a good omen.  Hope so.

It's going to be a long day today - 500 miles from Monroe to Chattanoogo - but we'll break it up by having lunch with Rocketman and a buddy of his in Tuscaloosa.

We should be home, we figure, by August 6.  But when I set up the log, it's easier to do it by entire weeks.  Just in case, you know.

We're still at the Inzane location, heading to Mackinac Island tomorrow, then down to Lansing area where Wizard's sons and grandkids are.  I'll leave him there on Friday and go to Chicago where I'll spend a day or so with friends before going to a craft convention.  Wizard and I will reconnect somewhere in Indiana on the 30th, on our way to visit friends in Ohio.  Then we'll be headed back home.

Part of me is ready to go home, part of me wants to stay foot loose and fancy free.   What I do know from experience is that I no longer make plans to visit between Ohio and home, because by that point I start finding it harder to make myself detour.  Doesn't mean it can't happen, just that it won't be planned well in advance.

Next question?

It's not my first trip to the Island, but it IS my first return trip.  We were going to go today, but rain storms were predicted, and the island is too pretty to have to see it in the rain.  So we goofed off all day (I even took a nap!  I hope I can still sleep tonight, naps sometimes mess me up that way), went into town on the shuttle and had a great meal, now I'm trying to convince myself that all this stuff really will fit back into the bags it came out of.  Amazing how much stuff we spread out in a week!

Thank you, you honor me.  The original purpose of the log was to placate the folks who just knew I'd get killed and disappear, riding across country by myself.  It's become fun, and tradition.

I'm always surprised by the number of folks who follow along, but the most shocking moment was the day I pulled into Johnson City for Inzane, and as I got off the bike to register at the hotel, someone said "Are you THE Lyn-Del?!"   Whoa!

We're having fun.  Glad others are enjoying sharing it with us.
