I posted several weeks ago about going Darkside from Albuquerque to Alaska.  Well I made it. So far I've done the Top of the World Highway from Dawson City to Chicken, the Elliot Highway to Manley Hot Springs and the Dalton to the Arctic Circle.  I'm currently holed up in a room above a convenience store in Trapper Creek, about 120 miles outside of Anchorage, and they have Wi-Fi!  It's pouring rain and I am too big a wuss to set up my tent.
It's been a great trip so far and the Goodyear Fuel Saver Max still look new after 4800 miles.

Good for you. It has been dry hot and sunny back here in Abq. Bring some that rain back.

Will do. We will have to meet up when I return

Heck of a ride deadwood. I've rode to Los Lunas (south of Abq.) the last 2 Mays from Michigan what a climate change.  I bet you are seeing quite a climate change also.
My trips were on a Goodyear TT a great tire for touring.
Have a safe ride home.

If you're lucky enough to ride a Valkyrie, you're lucky enough.

I want to take the 5th wheel RV up there one day.  I had heard in the past that you shouldn't take your own RV, but rent one because the roads would beat it up.

From a beat your vehical up standpoint, the Elloit is the worst.
From a scare the crap out of you standpoint, its the Top of The World.

Please, please, please, more ride reports and pics.  That is a trip a lot of us can only dream about.  Enjoy it, man!
Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.

Ride on!

I rode "Top of the World" all the way to Dawson City...great ride, nice city. Everything was on fire there pn the Alaska side when I went through...

Just got home from the trip.
31 days. Camped 20 of them.
8845 miles.
I checked the oil once and the tire pressure once. That's the extent of the motorcycle maintenacne I did.
The Dragon Lady is a great motorcycle. (I know none of you realized that)
Goodyear still looks new. I saw a Harley with a Metzler with the same miles I had and cord was showing.
Thanks to Dan for the insperation. in "Lifes a Road"
