Just want to introduce myself. I have recently bought a 2001 Valk I/S, black, with just 9,300 miles after admiring them since when they first came out, and getting a brief ride on a "Standard" in '98 I believe.

I have been riding anything with 2 wheels for 46 years (yeah, you're right, I am gettin' old, but I know what I like!). I also have and really enjoy a HD Roadglide that I bought new in '99, and a '77 BMW R100/7 that I have restored and keep to honor the memory of my father. He was a motorcycle cop in Gemany, and my earliest memory of bikes is looking down past the tank and seeing those two big cylinders sticking out. I guess that is what I like about the HD, the BMW, and the Valk - they are all MOTORCYCLES, meaning the motor is the part that is the center of the bike, and is the most obvious and beautiful.

Anyway, I love the Valk! It is everything I had hoped for and more: handling, power, speed, looks, and most of all SMOOTHNESS. But hey, all you guys already know all that. My Valk is stock, with some chrome add-ons and a "Home brewed" glass pack mod, that makes it sound as good as it runs.

The info I have gotten off this site is amazing. It is plain to see that there are some very dedicated and knowledgeable Valkyrie owners and riders. I am happy to be a part of the community, and hope that in time I can contribute something worthwhile. I have read pretty much all of the posts on "The Dark Side", and even though technically it does not sound like a good idea, it certainly has my interest on high alert.

Are there any members in either NE Connecticut, or in the Daytona Beach area of Florida out there?

Welcome Valkahuna!
We get over to Daytona quite often so I'm sure our paths will cross sooner or later.  Cool We are over in the east side of Ocala just south of the Silver Springs attraction. Keep looking on the Florida Board for lunch rides & other such gatherings. There is usually a large Bike Week or Biketoberfest GoldWing/Valkyrie luncheon that is very good for meeting the Florida Valkers.
Hope to see you soon! cooldude

Sorry it has taken me a while to answer. Work has had me busy, and weddings have kept me travelling and off the board. Thanks for the information. I'm sure we will cross paths. I am bringing the Valk to Florida, and it will be my only two wheeled ride there. So, no distractions. Hope to meet up with you guys in the future.
