Why would anyone shave a cow like that?

I changed the oil.  Grin cooldude Grin  Gotta love the Valkyrie.

Waiting to get over to Hard6 and get some skins on the back of Traveler and I am blasting off.  Not sure how (route) yet - I do know my final destination though.  This may be the Desperado Ride.

Stay tuned...I figure there will be a road trip report coming soon.

FRAM PH6017A - From Walmart.

Cost of maintenance:

Oil - Synthetic Rotella 5W40 - $19.00
FRAM Oil Filter - $7.24

Total with 8% Tax - $28.24

One stop shopping at Wallyworld.  I check the little filter catalog book in Walmart because I can never remember the number.  They always show a Valkyrie and an Interstate - but the filter is the same.  I keep a crush washer that I got at Honda but I only change it out (the washer on the drain bolt) every now and then.  Maybe twice.

Oh yeah, while I was under there, I drained the dragon drool from the tubes under the bike.

Are you still running the Battlax 020 on the rear?  Does the nut cage rub on the right side at all?

Thanks Eric - but my route is going to be west I reckon.

Jay, yes, I still run the Battleax.  I did the nut mod before I mounted my first one.  I cut both nut cages off.  It is tight enough that I would say that you would have a problem if you didn't do the mod.  Like if you were going to run a car tire.

Strider,
I'll need to do the cage mod.  I have had the Battlax on for about 8,000 miles and there is just a small shiney strip on the right sidewall.

Heading out west?  Colorado Springs?

First part of next week I figure.  I have some rat killing to take care of at home and have to ride over to Hard6's tomorrow for a tire (he just called and gave me the go ahead).  Depending on the route, should be first of next week if I leave out on Friday or Saturday.

I will keep ya posted.  Always love to meet fellow riders.

Unfortunately, my wife and I will be leaving Saturday to visit her folks.  Should be back the 5th.
I won't have access to this site until then.  Have a great trip.

Strider I let the garden go to weeds this year. Too busy to keep it up. You're safe to visit buddy.
