New set of Metzler 880 Marathons
«

I just replaced my second set of Dunlop E3's.
Ive run the D 206' (Ithink that's what came on it new from the dealer).
Many sets of Avon Venoms.
A set of Avon Cobras.
Two sets of dunlop E3's.
And now the Metzler 880 marathons.
90K total miles.
The new Marathons are the by far the most comfortable tires I have ridden on.
Way less harsh over pumps and they are quiet.
They go exactly where you point them with no feed back (back talk) when you go over rough road sections or ridges. There is no need to ride around the bad surfaces of the road they just roll over it like was flat.
I put them on this morning and road 220 miles today.
I'm very impressed with these tires.

Wildman glad to see someone out burning up the tires....
I've been trimming trees, working on my I/S (cruise control acting up), and playing with my son. Hope all is well.
Look forward to seeing you in three weeks !!!!

I have a variety on my valks as well. The Metzlers were my favorite in terms of ride quality and grip, but they lasted the shortest time. My rear was shot in 7,600 miles.

Nitro that is true...
Wildman, my cousin Justin that you met at inzane said the same thing... They ride very well but you don't get many miles out of them. Not sure how many Justin was able to get out of his but he was very disappointed regarding mileage of the tire.

I'll go back to a front Metz (Darkside rear) after my Avon is gone.
Probably next spring. The Metz grips great in al types of weather,
but they seem to wear quicker than most. Pay special attention
to the psi. Helps them last longer if you keep it consistent.

My new to me I/S had Metzlers on it when I got it. Seller said they had about 2,500miles on them. Pulled in the barn after a ride yesterday and cord is showing on the rear !! I've put about 4,500 on her since I got it. The tires handled well but the wear
factor is unacceptable. Looks like a CT will be on order this morning to replace it.

I can't get over how nice the Me 880's ride is.
I know that thye wear out quickly but, there on the Valk now.
I'm hoping that they can take me to InZane X and back before the wear-bars are flush.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Metzler's seem to be a little smaller tire overall when compared to Dunlop's, size by size.
