Been here since day 0001. The past few years have been very mellow. Willow & Company do a good job of keeping it all under control. Just have to wade through it to find what's relevant to your interest or point of view.

However, it seems to me that over the course of the past year this board has taken a turn for the worse and is populated by some notables who feel a penchant to share their vitriolic view of government and politics and their religious fervor.  Now, I respect every person’s right to believe what ever they choose about those topics, I’d just rather they not tell me about it on a motorcycle forum.  Personally, I do not believe that words such as “tyranny”, “nazi”, “communist”, “socialist” or other similar inflammatory words belong in the same paragraph of a dissertation about our government leaders, regardless of party affiliation, in any forum let alone this one.

I'd hate it if someone knew that Adolf Hitler had been resurrected and was now running this country and that this board, being the only forum I visit, under your rule, I couldn't be warned that Adolf was gonna take away our right to ride because that would be considered political. Not that anyone would do anything about it.
Oh, and you forgot fascism. That's a form of government that places taxes on peoples property so that they never really own it. They pay a huge sum of money, inherit it or marry into it, then have to contimually pay rent to the government to keep possession of it. I guess we're not to speak about our rights being taken away, i.e. speach, gun ownership, right to life, etc. because this is a motorcycle forum. Maybe I'll go out and take lots of pictures of my Valkyrie and post nothing but pics. That ought to hold your attention.
It's funny though, as many times that this same logic has been expressed here, that the posts I've made about either a ride or work I've done on my bike may get 4 or 5 replies, and it's been the political posts that have had the most views or replies.

true!  very true, nothing gets people more pissed off then politics and religion!!  i wouldn't mind looking at some of your pixs though!!  it's kinda like looking at another mans beautiful woman, and lusting after her in some sick demented way......  yeah, sure its a motorcycle, but there's something about riding another mans "woman"......

I think any post on this forum is Valkyrie related as we all own , have owned or want to own one in the past or future and to me that makes us all related by association .May be its time for an Off Topic section where all can post there wide,weird and wonderful views on life ,religion and politics or any topic they want to discuss and people can completely avoid it if they desire.

Did I miss something? like the ability of some who have computers to NOT to Click a post that may upset them?

The problem for me, and I think for alot more people that you might think, isn't overlooking certain topics or posters......its the sheer glut of them.  In the last few weeks I have been extremely busy at my real job, my other job as a wheat farmer, and life in general.  I had maybe 20 minutes per day that I could sit down and check out the board.  On a least 5 different occasions when I checked the board more than half the topics on the front page of the general board were politically related.  There are only 25 threads listed on the front page, and 6 of those are stickies that don't move down.  Of the remaining 19, at least 10 of those were politics.  When one or two people decide to change the world one VRCC thread at a time on their pet political view(s) it gets overwhelming and annoying.

And when I said BS political posts this is what I mean.  Example.  Lets say JohnnyVRCC is pissed about  some new legislation.  Instead of reading up on the subject, and then posting something like...."you know, I don't like this legislation.  Here's why....."  No, JohnnyVRCC would post: that !W$%T^ (insert politician here) is a sorry SOB who isn't fit for office. Check out this link with all this stuff I agree with, but have no idea if its true or not.  TAKE ACTION NOW!!!!!

Then, all his buddies respond with "Hell yeah! that sorry SOB! Lets revolt!"  Then of course, the other side would say: "You are a bunch of idiots!  This is the best legislation EVER!"

Very little real discussion ever takes place.  Most folks are just out to prove the other side is wrong, the truth be cursed.  Thats what really annoys me.

Scott i closed my eyes and was thinking you just described Congress and the Media, that is why we Americans who want to here both sides of the story can vent....without Government controlled Opposition, witch seams to be the coarse the Arthur of this Topic, seems to want! 'Censorship'. Evan if i were disbarred from this board it is Public Internet and all can visit without log on, And do! i did for 7 years after not posting anymore after 2001, Hey people come and go I DID so what...lets all suck it up WE ARE BIKERS LOL!!!
