Dakota...The North Side

« on: June 25, 2010, 08:24:58 PM »

A $20 traffic ticket has been issued to a 92-year-old woman who drove across the center line in northeastern North Dakota and hit two of four motorcycles heading the other way, killing a newlywed riding with her husband, authorities said. Woman can't wait to get back behind the wheel to get to the casino.

Wow, a whole $20.  Would love to hear the reason behind it.

Did some Googling:

http://www.kfgo.com/regionalnews_Detail.php?ID=11995

They didn't say how much the ticket was for the guy who's wife was killed... Yep, they ticketed the driver of the motorcycle for not having a motorcycle license. The fatality was his wife of 4 days on the back of the bike...

I don't go to Sturgis because the North Dakota Congressman killed Randy Scott several years ago got 100 days for killing him. He was drunk and blew through a stop sign at 70mph. I figure if the folks want that kind of representation, my money should be spent elsewhere. Looks like nothing has changed, especially my mind...

A lady I am acquainted with hit a motorcyclist this week and put him in the hospital. Her statement was the usual, I didn't see him come over that hill...... Which is the result of not looking!!!! Or not looking good enough. I have at times pulled out in front of vehicles much larger that a motorcycle and said to myself, I sure didn't see him. In retrospect it could have been only a glance at best, If you look you will see.

As a rider, you can become a little more visible.

Have ya ever heard of the high beam switch.

Run the high beam all the time.

That low beam on some bikes is like a candle at 40 miles......

Check it out on a ride as to what the difference is between a hi and low beam.  Amazing isnt it?
