We are currently @ 23% of our goal of raising $10,000 for childrens cancer research.  My self and some of my brother and sister VRCC MI Rogue Riders are organizing the event and or getting our heads shaved in solidarity with the children who lose their hair during treatment.  I was happy to hear that 6 year old Skye made it home in WV.

Our shave off event will be held Sunday, March 29th.  If you would like to donate, click on one of the links below.

Here are some stories of the honored children in MI:

Meet Faolan Brace MacBeth
Location:Walled Lake, MI, US
Diagnosis:Non-Hodgkin's Lymphoma
Treated At:Beaumont Hospital Royal Oak
Current Status:Angel

Personal Message

Faolan touched her family in ways that they never knew existed and they were just beginning to get a glimpse of who she was going to be. She was full of wisdom and she was already kind and gentle, funny, outgoing, serious and above all, strong. She never asked to leave the hospital, but instead reached out to wipe tears from the faces around her. Her family said that it would be an understatement to say she is deeply missed and that she changed their lives. She never had the chance to meet her little brother who made his entrance into the world while she lay in hospital herself. They did not have the chance to cross paths between this world and the next. They can only hope that she helped her youngest brother along the way on his journey here two years after she had left. Their entire family is privileged to honor not only Faolan, but all children and families touched by cancer, in such a way.

Meet Noah C.
Location:Washington Twp, MI, US
Age:8
Diagnosis:Neuroblastoma
Treated At:Memorial Sloan Kettering Hospital, New York
St. John Van Elslander Pediatric Oncology Center
Current Status:In Treatment

Personal Message

Our son was diagnosed with Neuroblastoma on December 18, 2007. That is the day our life turned upside down! Noah has since been through biopsy operation, bone marrow aspirations, four rounds of chemo, blood transfusion, CAT scans, MRI's, nuclear tests, blood draws twice weekly and daily shots. On April 7, 2008 he had the tumor removed. He had 6 months of NED (no evidence of disease) on October 5, 2008, Noah had his 6 month scan and it showed an area where this evil disease reared it's ugly head again. We are seeking treatment through Memorial Sloan Kettering in New York. Noah has gone through more CT scans, MRI's, nuclear tests, bone marrow aspirationns, stem cell harvest, daily shots, many many blood transfusions, three rounds of high-dose chemo, surgery, etc. He still has more high-dose chemo to endure along with localized radiation with chemo. Through all of this he has been unbelievably strong! His and our faith is what has gotten us through many hard days and sleepless nights. Like most parents, you begin this journey without knowing the length or end, but with prayers and faith, you get peace and strength to tackle everyday! When meeting Noah you would never know he has been and is still going through a battlefield! He is our warrior! He is being blessed through this all and one day we will see how God will use him!

Just wanted to let everyone know that the MI VRCC is supporting The Saint Baldricks  Childrens Cancer research fund raiser.  We have donations from the TriCIty, Grand Rapids and Rogue Riders Chapters.  What I really thought was cool, is that my Rogue sister Dinah Stroich has volenteered to shave her head, along with her husband John.  That's a big sacrifice for Dinah, so If you'd like to reward/support her you can donate at
DINAH

We also have another Rogue husband and wife team volunteering to help at the event, Gary and Jeaneane Henry aka Romeo and Juliet.  We have collectively formed the MI VRCC Rogue Riders Team, so any money donated to any of these individuals gets credited to our team.  Please contribute if you can.  Gary and Jeaneane's links follow along with a link to our event site.
