GO Pro Video Question
«

For several years I have been considering getting one of the Go Pro Video cameras. Now that I am close to laying out the dough they came out with a 5.0MP HD version for about $300 and the standard version has now been reduced from $199 to $149. Does anyone have experience with both cameras outside posting on U-Tube? I am wondering if there is a significant visual difference in the quality of video between the two camera’s. I really can’t go by what is posted on U-Tube.
I have a small JVC digital video camera that records to a SD card and I am also considering mounting that on my bike. It has a shake reduction feature. Has anyone tried this with any success?? In the past my lady has been shooting video over my shoulders but that gets her a bit sick when we’re in the twisties. Besides then she cannot enjoy the trip.
Thanks,

I toyed with the idea of one of those Go Pro cameras and picked one up at Costco for 99.99. I tried it out just by hand and did not mount it. I wasn't impressed with the overall video quality and the sound was really muffled or non existent. I played with it in the yard, house but never mounted. I ended up returning it thinking it wasn't what I wanted. Costco has a great satisfaction guarantee policy (and pricing was right as well). You might want to get a mount for the camera you already have..... just a thought. But if you belong to Costco, give it a try for yourself.

I am really pleased with the quality of the video that I get with my Fujifilm still camera with video. Most still cameras will take 30 frame per second video but the Fujifilm is great and great sound also. It is their $200 to $250 F Series model that I have, I am not sure about their $100 cameras. All of the following was taken with it either by myself or my passenger.

I have the GoPro HD Hero, and I have to tell you, it rocks. The video quality is professional quality, especially when using the 1080p mode. It has 170 degree viewing angle, and pretty good low light performance. The video's I get are nothing short of stunning, and with a 32 gig card, you can capture up to 9 hours of video. The battery lasts about 2 1/2 hours on a charge, but I bought an extra one just in case.
You will love this camera.
