Historical average temps appear to be in the low 80's, I can handle that. Their record highs aren't as high as our daily summer average here in Florida. Looking forward to some cooler riding then.

Humidity?  Oh yes, that can make life miserable. One thing about Florida...if the temp is 82, the humidity isn't far from that same figure in the summer. If the temp is in the upper 90's like it has been here lately, with our afternoon showers during the summer....guess what the humidity is like. If I have a choice of temps, I'll take the 82 over the 95+ anytime. With an 82/80%....temp/humidity, that keeps the heat index below 100. With a 98/95%...temp/humidity, you're looking at a heat index well over 100....generally around 108-110. That extra 10-13 degrees makes a huge difference in the comfort level.

2 things about Michigan ... don't trust the weathermen & if you don't like the weather, wait 5 minutes ... it will change.

FYI - we've been seeing lows down to Hi 40s ... 30-40 degree swings (day/night) are not uncommon.  It's not uncommon for my daily commutes to require the heavy liner in the jacket one-way and down to mesh on the return.  Bring layers.

HI John  Cool

I'll add my 2 cents (which is worth 1/10 if you're living in MI) If the weather report is 60% chance of rain, you're 'probally' going to stay dry. If it's 30%, or lower, it will be sunny. . . . with maybe a few clouds. Michigan and Florida are similar in that the weather can change in a heartbeat, without warning. Surrounded by water does that I guess, eh? ("eh" = first lesson in northern  yopperspeak. End every sentence with it, "eh" and everyone will think you're a native . . . eh)

Here is the latest according to Accuweather-

Wed. 7/14- a shower in the morning, hi 81
Thurs. 7/15-sunny and humid, hi 85
Fri. 7/16-sunny and warm, hi 87
Sat-7/17-sunny at times, with a thunderstorm, hi 86
Sun.-7/18-mostly sunny, with a thunderstorm, hi 80

The last few days we have been pretty humid and it is starting to warm up.  We have lived a charmed life so far this summer, with many perfect days and our summer started much earlier than normal.  T-storms are always expected in the afternoons, sometimes they happen, can't plan around them because you never know.  Good news is they usually pass through fast.  I am on the east side of the state and it seems we don't get hit with the dramatic weather like the west side (be it snow OR rain storms).  I can't handle the sun/heat and humidity anymore, so I may be in the A/C a lot this trip.

Have your passport ready (just ask Strider.....) and carry protection.  I hear some of those Yankees like to eat Rebs for lunch!   Grin Grin Grin Grin Grin

(Actually, if you carry, check the laws first!)

CCW would be fine in MI, however, we are going around the top of the lake, thru Canada, so no carry to MI for me.
I only want to be in Canada 2 days, NOT 2 years!

In Michigan it's "unusually humid" if it's over 99%!    2funny
