Hey out there, I’m about to take a long cruise on my Interstate and want to mount a Tom-Tom on it, what have you found to work? Also have any of you just used the windshield mount, and does that work or is there to much wind vibration?  coolsmiley

I would not trust any windshield mount.  Last year before the Zumo 550 I used a Tom-Tom 720 mounted on the handlebar using a ram mount.  Ebay has some mounts made for most Tom-Tom that will secure it.  Tom-Tom worked good but not bright enough in direct sun light.  Good Luck

I've used the Ram mount system for years and it's worked well for me.

I have a Garmin 550 mounted with the RAM mounts on my Harley Ultra and it stays put even on athe Vibrating Big Girl Grin
Hard wired to a wire that allows it to turn off with the bike or continue on battery power from the unit if you wish....no flat battery. I also run a wire to the radio so I don't have to look at the screen when I am busy with traffic etc.
Have a good trip

Best place I found to mount mine is on the Aluminum Mount for the triple tree, used the ram ball mount with the 5" arm works great there is  no vibration from the road,( We all ready know the valk does not Vibrate.) also you have a lot of positions you can move to without blocking the speedo/tach. also did the hard wire mount ,it only take a minute to put on and or remove it to lock it  into the trunk while your out of sight from your bike.

Good Luck!

Ram Mounts are the best.  Garmin agrees and includes them with the Zumo.  The best price I found was at http://www.expressmounts.com/, and they delivered them very quickly.
