Contacted S.S. Badger. You will need 2 Tie down straps or buy them from the badger for $13 each. I talked to a friend Of mine who has done ferrys and he recamends 4 straps X fashion. I guess their will be grates in the floor to tie down to.

when I took the ferry from Muskegon to Milwaukee last week the tie down straps was free

I used 3 of them   Ferry was 2.5 hours and nice ride   Lake Express I think was the name

Bike rode free in June and I paid 95 including tax one way.  I think the gas and tolls would have been close to 45 bucks if I rode from Ann Arbor out past chicago

I have taken the Badger a number of times.  2 tie downs are plenty.  Buy a pair at walmart.  You never know when you need them.

The Lake Express is a Ferry that goes from Milwaukee, WI to Muskegon, MI and back.  It is a little more expensive than the Badger, which goes from Green Bay, WI to Ludington, MI.

The Badger takes a longer time to cross than the Lake Express.

I dont know about the speed part as I did not perceive any speed  but it was less than half the time of the badger  The ferry I took is much farther south t han the badger also

I would guess maybe 30-40 knots on the open water
