Have one Battery Tender and a couple of small battery floats from Harbor Freight. I use the Float on my car in temporary storage permanently, and rarely miss a day on the Batter Tender for my Valk.

I only hook up the Battery Tender if the bike will sit for a week or more. In the winter I have all the bike (and Miata) batteries in the basement hooked to a bank of Battery Tender connections. Never a problem.

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

Never on a tender. Batt lasts 5-6yrs. She's put up from Nov-March.

If you can keep your battery charged by riding it often, then what RPM's do you need to give it a good charge, and for how long at that RPM?

The problem where I live is the Winters are long and cold, but in theory cold doesn't damage batteries, it's heat that damages them.

Battery tender? I bought my bike in 05 and have yet to charge my battery or need to replace it. It sat last winter for almost 2 months, but usually alot less now that I live in a warmer climate than I did when I bought the bike.
