Sorry, no pics. Anita and I and her cousin Phillip and his wife Debra rode our bikes to a fireworks show at Taylor, AL on Saturday evening. Taylor borders Dothan on the southwest. It is very rural without many businesses. I mention this because we were taken back by how great of a fireworks show they put on. It was one of the best I've ever withnessed and I've been to many different shows at different locations. Again, a really great show by any standard, lasting about 40 minutes.

Then, yesterday evening we decided to go to Lake Eufaula for their 4th of July Show. We went the long way to get there to only find out they moved it to the 3rd. So, with the sun setting we decided to go to Dothan's big fireworks show, about 50 miles south of where we were. It was 7:30 and we had plenty of time. Got there with time to spare. Set up our chairs and waited in anticipation. It started promptly on time at 9 PM and promptly stopped at 9:14. Wow, what a let down. During the day, they charge $10 a head to get into the fair grounds to hear the concerts, etc which is a bummer to me, hey this is the 4th of July. They open it up in the late evening to come watch the fireworks show. You spend more time getting in, getting parked and getting out than the show lasts. Won't do that again.

Thanks to the little town of Taylor for such a great time. Shame on Dothan, the shopping capitol of SE AL for you very limited effort.

We got home and watched the neighbor's show which lasted another 20 minutes after we got home at 10:20 and had been going on since 9. I may go for a ride next year and be at home by 9.

We did have a great ride with very little traffic. Wide open farm land, rolling forrested hisides, antebellum homes, historic sites, etc.

Maybe we'll have the camera next time.

I took this on the 4th.  They fire 'em from a barge in Boggy Bayou.  That's a bayou that's between Valparaiso and Niceville in the Florida panhandle (northwest Florida).

I can't sing, I ain't pretty and my legs are thin
But don't ask me what I think of you
I might not give the answer that you want me to
