It's been raining here for the last week and this week looks bad too. Cry I had  riding plans for my three day weekend which were aborted. So, we went to an indoor air-conditioned range, just me and the wife, we had a good time putting holes in paper. No big stuff, all I brought was .22's and a brick of ammo. Smith & Wesson 422, Colt Cub Cadet, Ruger Bearcat. Ruger 10/22. Had a great time and stopped on the way home for a great lunch. It was like dating again.

Great idea....since my knee surgery I've been thinking about hitting the range a little bit...I'll bet Devl will get a bang out of it too...looks like we'll have to go and shoot up some paper...

Tundra, at least y'all got in some range therapy!  And quality time w. the Mrs on top of it all.

I was going to go to the range (outdoor) this afternoon, after being laid up Thurs-Sat and yesterday being too wet.   Angry  After making a quick run out west week before last and being back at work last week, finally got the lawn mowed this AM, washed the Valk and ran 'er over to the liquor store to help dry 'er off and to pick up beer in preparation for the work week.  Took the wagon out afterwords to run errands before heading out to shoot and...  It clouded up fast and the skies opened up.  Just plain poured for awhile and it's been on and off ever since.  I'm glad I didn't take the bike out for those errands.  Saw one Harley-looking critter parked under an overpass w. the rider sitting on the concrete upslope and sneered until I hit heavy rain a half mile down the road and said to myself "With this much traffic that's going this fast in this hard a rain, it wouldn't've been safe at all on a bike and that guy was being a lot smarter than I'd've been."  Likewise glad that I didn't head to the range before running errands; I'd've just gotten all set up when it started with the whole water from the sky thing.

So, here I sit with everything from .50BMG to .25ACP all ready to go.  Even a bunch of magazines full of .38 Super brass trimmed down to 9mm Browning Long specs and loaded accordingly for an old Swedish military surplus beasty that I'm hoping will finally get that working right.
And next weekend's pretty much all spoken for in advance.  tickedoff

Especially disappointed I still haven't gotten to shoot the newest one after having it for about a month now, but I'm finally ready; one of the errands was to stop at a fabric store to get proper thickness material for patching round ball out of it:

That looks like a ton of fun, even with girly caps on it  Cheesy

On the 4th, I got up at 5:30 and went to the outlaws to give as much help as I could one handed tearing off a garage roof. (Still am only allowed to lift a coffee cup) It was hot, but the daughter had a side job that we had to be be back at 1 for so we beat feet at noon. Went to a neighbors party and ate, but we were all cooked and going anywhere for fireworks was out.

Did some sparklers in the yard, and I brought up the flintlock and paper towels. It was fun even if it really wasnt shooting.  Grin The daughter touched it off a couple of times, the paper towel projectiles dont go far, but keep the BP tight for a good boom.

However beautiful the strategy, you should occasionally look at the results.

Some of the fellows here went out hunting last night and got 4 Beluga whales.... they said they got 2 of them at 2:30 in the morning.  They seem to prefer .303 British for hunting them - likely because they use open sights and hunt on the salt water so they use a cheap gun.  They dressed them out and it sounds like everybody is eating "muktuk" today........
