Someone appears to be attempting to defame someone else by quoting inflamatory statements that have little or no basis in the truth.  As gramma used to say, "Vie vie on you!!!).

Atta Boy Raodkill, you have a good memory and some have a selective memory.

BIG AL

Either Way this fellow is a bad american at the very least, a usurper at the very worst.

I choose the latter.

my opinion and I am entitled to it.

Never used his name in any of my posts and still people know who I am talking about.

Com’on, RoadKill…  It’s easy and cheap to dig up quotes and snippets from EVERY politician that ever made a speech or was recorded in any way.

The original complaint dealt with an INTENTIONAL misquote designed to rev-up the half-wits that thrive on internet propaganda.

That’s not to say that Big Al originated the quote.

WASHINGTON -- During his first eight months in office, President Obama has sat down for three times as many television interviews as his most recent two predecessors combined.

And with yesterday's run of the Sunday-morning news show circuit and tonight's airing of "Late Night with David Letterman," Obama continues to blaze through the media hotter than any political figure in modern history.

"He's turning the presidency into an infomercial," warned former White House speechwriter Matt Latimer. "It's not just damaging to the White House. It will also ultimately hurt President Obama's image as a fresh, non-Washington leader."

The media blitz has won Obama unprecedented wall-to-wall coverage in the mainstream media.

In the New York Times alone, according to the Center for Media and Public Affairs at George Mason University, the number of stories on the Obama administration that have appeared on the front page through mid-August of this year totaled 119,678 column inches. That's 9,973 column feet of Obama coverage on the Times front page alone.

But it is television that has been the most powerful draw for Obama.

In his five major appearances yesterday, Obama voiced skepticism about adding troops to Afghanistan, denied making a deal with Russia over missile defenses in Europe, and continued to push his government-run health-insurance program.

As of mid-August, Obama submitted to a total of 66 television interviews, dramatically outstripping his two predecessors, according to Martha Joynt Kumar, director of the White House Transition Project at Towson University in Maryland.

During the same period of their own presidencies, President George W. Bush gave 16 television interviews and President Bill Clinton gave just six.

Obama is also out-hustling his predecessors with the print media, giving 36 interviews with newspapers and magazines during his first seven months in office -- nearly doubling the numbers given by Bush and Clinton.

I gather that you are both trying to make the point that BigAl intentionally passed on information that he knew to be erroneous. Is that a fair assumption?  I checked Snopes to see for my self if he had , I found nothing...they neither confirm or deny either claim. Would either of you Geniuses care to provide something to back up your claim ?  It was pointed out ,in public AND with out presumption of intent, that the Quote he referenced was false

and yet some of us here felt the need to continue rubbing salt in the wound ( as mature adults tend to do  uglystupid2) so I responded with irrefutable, fact checked quotes and was met by responses like "cheap and easy" "INTENTIONAL misquote" and "In both cases, nothing good comes from it" . So I am just wondering who is here just to argue for arguments sake this time?   AND while you guys are pointing out every ones "intentions" I was wondering if you could come up with some for me befor I have to plead the 5th amendment in court about them!! Lips Sealed And while you are at it gimme my opinion too tickedoff

I made no comment about BIG AL’s intentions for posting the misquote, only that it was a misquote.  The origins of the misquote were obvious, so I commented on that.

Here are three links I found by Googling “stand with the Muslims” in less than a minute.

http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/did_obama_write_that_he_would_stand.html

http://www.snopes.com/politics/obama/ownwords.asp

http://www.truthorfiction.com/rumors/o/obama-books.htm

Each one shows the actual quote, which explains Obama’s stance to stand up for the rights of American citizens when public opinion wants to remove their rights.

and yet some of us here felt the need to continue rubbing salt in the wound ( as mature adults tend to do  uglystupid2) so I responded with irrefutable, fact checked quotes and was met by responses like "cheap and easy" "INTENTIONAL misquote" and "In both cases, nothing good comes from it" . Finding stupid remarks or political differences is easy to do for any politician.  It’s almost a moot point to post them.

You ,Sir, Did NOT !  You made a point, with out any derogatory inference about the intent of the original poster, and I believe your correction was done VERY tastefully. I hope you will extend the same tasteful and non assumptive correction to myself as the occasion may rise. Because I would never be arrogant enough to say I was not as human as and open to mistakes as the rest.  coolsmiley

I will attempt to help you with your comprehension problem.

The originator (person who created it) INTENTIONALLY (on purpose) misquoted Obama’s writings.

The misquote is used on conservative websites and emails to excite people who don’t research propaganda, and simply believe what they read.

The originator is NOT Big Al.

I’m not sure if I can make this any clearer, so I will leave it at that.
