Big door prize last night and club discount info for those who haven't heard

Great to see everyone last night, even with the weather.  Glad to get soggy for a good crew like that.  I also loved Kali's attitude about what transportation to take to a bike meeting.  Great enthusiasm from a little one.

Big Winner
I had to mention the door prizes because I was stunned.  I appreciate that Colby and Al (from Al Lamb's Honda) continue to supply us with quality door prizes every month, but they surprised me big time (in a good way) last night. I thought giving us a couple of Scala headsets to give away this year was big, but for those who don't know, they gave us a pair of new E3s to use as a door prize last night along with the other goodies (and Howie came all the way in from Aurora and threw in some nice metal polish, too). 

Everyone who braved the rain, including our two youngest gals at the meeting, walked away with something last night.  Ghillie definitely walked away the big winner with the free pair of tires.  I haven't priced new tires in a while, but Serk mentioned how much they cost these days and that it drove him to the dark side so for Colby to pony up a free set of E3s seemed over the top generous to me and I have to give big kudos and thanks.

Colby runs Al's parts dept and doesn't know me very well as I live on the other side of town and don't get into Al's very often, but in addition to the tires, he just volunteered to me last night the reminder that he will match HDL and other internet prices (for our personal use) if we'll just print it out, bring it in and ask for him.  Howie didn't know about that club benefit until last night, so I figured I would mention it.  Colby didn't mention this last night, but I've heard BAD/Disco/[insert new handle here] and a couple of others say that it is a good deal and best to keep it low key when asking for Colby for this benefit in the store as it would not be good for other customers who aren't in the VRCC to find out and expect to get the same deal. 

Now, if we can just get a Shiner sponsor to kick in!

I'll second that, thanks to Al for still supporting us in a very real way... I felt kinda bad going home with as much as I did, kudos to Al and those who pick the goodies up from them and maintain a friendly relationship with them...

Beautiful, DRY ride home with Kali, she loved it, and I loved having her along on the ride... Some of the best times we've had together are when we go for a ride together...
