Okay the short of it is I was working on replacing my front wheel bearings last night. (see thread on tech board. Help needed there also)

Anyway, Its late, I am tired , hot, and very frustrated!

I pulled my Rifle windscreen off the bike and propped it against the wall between the garage doors. (not its usual place) The doors were up at the time.
(I am sure some of you can already see where this is going)

Well you guessed it, I closed the doors without moving the screen. The lip of one of the door panels caught the windscreen and broke it in two. Soooo, now I need a new screen. $300+ for the one I broke.  Rifle apparently does not sell just the screen.

I have an old National cycle screen that I am going to try to modify to fit the Rifle hardware for the time being, It is not a great screen , lots of scratches.

ANYWAY,,,,I have been wanting to try a BATWING.  Any suggestions on which one ??????????????
The Memphis Shades seems to be the least costly, but I have no idea what the inside looks like. I don’t want just a shell that is undressed in the inside.

I think I would like to have one that I can add a stereo system too  or at the least dressed on the inside but I like the quick release of the Memphis Shades.

Woodys screen is leading the pack at this time but the added cost of the speedo/tach  and headlight relocation kits is putting it out of reach.

Don’t really care for the The Rifle batwing.

The Hoppe Quadzilla is just too expensive, the Vaniliazilla may be a option.

I like the lines of the Kuryakyn  Sporttech Fairing.

Suggestions from anyone and real time experience would be appreciated.

Thanks

Better to be judged by 12, then carried by 6.

I left my side covers, oem, on my saddle bags once. It and my truck keys fell off. Keys went 'tween the bags and fender. Tire bent them all up and some wasnt usable.

I like Woodys and MS. If I do it all over again these are the 2 I'd pick. MS if I want the cheaper route. I bought a HD panhead batwing for $40 on ebay. Like new condition.

I picked up one of the old-style Hoppe fairings from Big Mike recently for $600, very happy with it. I am pretty sure he gets them from this French guy that reproduces them:

That is so weird knowing some guy is making them in France, when I designed them back in '02 or so while worrking at Hoppe's they went for $445 + shipping and didn't sell enough to be worthwhile. I only remember shipping 4 of them overseas, 1 to Wales, UK and 3 to France/Switzerland.

*If you win the one I'm donating for the Inzane10 rally in MI  Wink

(otherwise hope somebody with an Interstate wins it and make 'em an offer?)

Not so sure I want to be more attractive to BOTH sexes! But lowering my Lipids would be nice.

Since I am unable to attended Inzane is there a way to throw my name in the hat.?

You got something against chocolate?  Grin
Seriously, I have no idea if there is any way to purchase raffle tickets or however they're going to do it. Its a fund-raiser for the rally and it's cause so you'd have to get a hold of the powers that be (maybe Willow?) and ask them. Good luck!
