In all my years of taking bike trips, only had one real problem when on bikes.  The kicker is that is was in Wall, SD.

We pulled up on 2 V65 Magnas and a V45 Sabre.  Mike, on the Sabre, walks into the lobby.  Mike looks a old hippie from the 60's, long hair and scruffy beard but would give you the shirt off his back if necassary.  Seemed like he was in there a long time, so my buddy Ed walks in.  Ed is the clean cut
all-american boy.  Once the lady sees him, she agrees to give us a room but asks that we park our
bikes in the back of the hotel.  Ed politely refused and told her we would be parking under the lights
in front.

The next morning as we are packing up, another long haired/bearded BWM rider walks up to us. After the usual chit chat, he asks us if the lady in the lobby wanted us to park in the back.  I can't
tell you what he told her.  We all laughed. Hope I did not offend the long haired/beard crowd. I used to be one of you.

Last year when making reservations for Sturgis, I always info the hotel that we will be on motorcycles and ask if this is a problem.  One lady told me no, the only problem she has is with
is with the non-motorcycle crowds, bikers never give her problems.

good story!

2 yrs ago we staid at a little dump in Ill, alot of locals stay there.  Undecided Lady at the front desk, in her night gown  Embarrassed , said the Hells Angels stayed here a few years ago and torn up her lobby by riding there bikes in there.  Cheesy

Made resv in winner sd this year at a local hotel. Winner of coarse is biker friendly. She said she will park us out front and cator to us. They had a wedding party poker run a week prior. Storm was rolling in with hail. She had everyone park there bikes in the lobby. Musta been 50 wet bikes in there. She said the kicker was that a week prior they just got new carpet in the lobby.

On a trip a couple of years ago in Wisconsin, lady had her son move all the furniture from the front deck so we could park under the overhang. A storm was approaching and she said she knew we would be concerned about our bikes.  We walked in wearing our leathers and we told we got another discount for being bikers. Have been allowed to park under many a Hotel overhang to keep the bikes protected, all with permission of course.

The closest I've ever come is when staying at the Saint Anthony in Down Town San Antonio. I paid for parking so I could get the bike in an attended, fenced lot.
Seriously, the wife and I are standing there in full leathers, me holding the T-bag, and the concierge informs me the lot requires valet parking.  uglystupid2
You should have seen the look on their faces when I rolled up to the gate on my V92TC Deluxe. The guys at the lot were happy  to let me park it.

We just got into the Marquette, MI area.  Stopped at Best Western and they wanted $99 for the 2 of us for 1 night.....went east about 5 miles to a very clean, nice Mom&Pop place and got a comparable room for $55.  Sure worth the extra 5 miles.  1 HD and 1 GW parked out front.

stayed at a little place in arkansas last year.(on beaver lake).
when making reservations commented we were on bikes, the lady ask "harleys?"
said no goldwing-like bikes. coolsmiley
she said they don't allow "harleys", they were too loud and disturbed the other guest.
this was a resort-like place.
nice place but not a single flat place to park Sad
