In most of the "official" polls I've seen over the years, 'Plan 9 From Outer Space'
usually comes out on top....er, bottom. True, it is pretty bad, but at least it's a
funny kind of bad. However, I watched most of one last night (couldn't stand to
watch all of it, so I channel-surfed a little) called 'Without Warning'. Pitiful, absolutely
pitiful!! Had some recognizable names and faces in it: James Cameron, Jack Palance,
Larry Storch, Darby Hinton (remember him?) and some familiar faces I can't quite
name. Storyline is...an alien throws furry, Frisbee-looking things at you and they
latch on with big teeth and chew the life out of you. I sincerely hope it never comes
on again, I might have to watch it with Bikerbabe so she'll believe it's really as bad
as I said. Just the thought of that is scarier than the movie itself!! uglystupid2

No contest; "Reffer Madness" . . . . It was a 1950's 'Government made' monstrosity warning of the evils of marijuana usage. My Latin club in High School (I was the Treasurer of the club and was the one who suggested the movie – Yeah, I’m a closet geek) showed it as a fund raiser. It was so stinking horrible. . . . . it's beyond words! And, we lost money on it (Deservingly so!) crazy2

Killer Clowns....no, but I've heard of it.
Killer Tomatoes....well...technically I've seen it, but I was
suffering from "Reefer Madness" at the time and I
really can't say I remember much of it. Evil

On Kwajalein we had a young lady host a "Bad Movie Night"
Runner ups were:
 "Night of the Lepus"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0069005/
"Black Sheep"
http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0779982/
And the ATF:
"Jesus Christ Vampire Hunter"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jesus_Christ_Vampire_Hunter

Unfortunately there were many many others.
I shudder to remember any more.

Well just by the name you expect a certain amount of foolishness in the movie. But when it is supposed to be a serious movie and the actors can't act if there life depended on it.
The movie is if I recall correctly "Two Lane Black Top" and you got James Taylor the singer acting.

Hey!!  I liked Killer Clowns!! and I thought the car in Two Lane Black Top was bada$$ back in my younger days!  Wasn't it a 55 Chev with a flip front end??

I saw a very non-PC movie last week called "Southern Comfort" with Powers Boothe, Keith Carridine, and the guy who played Remo Williams and the Deputy from "Heat of the Night" - big ole white boy-

I think it was done in '81, all these guys were quite young.

It's about a group of National Guardsmen get tied up with a bunch of Cajuns down in the swamps in Louisanna.  Had some good parts but overall real corny!!

Worst movie of all time, ever is "Manos, the hands of fate." I've actually never seen it, but there is a website dedicated to slamming it. (http://www.i-mockery.com/minimocks/manos/) They make the argument that "Manos," lacks even the comedic value of "Plan 9."

Somebody on the MOOT forum posted a link to some "Bad Biker" movie called, "Exit Speed," about a bus that gets run off the road by bad bikers and the people inside take refuge in an old gas station as the bikers attack. This is basically a Zombie movie using bikers instead of Zombies. I'll try to find the link. The only name you're likely to have heard is Lea Thompson. Boy, her fortunes have fallen a long way.
The one bright spot in this waste of celluloid is Alice Greczyn.

If you're gonna be holed up somewhere overnight, that's who you want to be trapped with. If I can find the link to watch it frree, I'll post it here later.

EDIT 9:49 a.m. 7/13/2010 - I just checked the link at spernovatube, and it's no longer there.

Of our left leaning brothers, Walküre has thus far been the most rational, calm, polite one, let's not run him off or turn him nasty like the other ones have gotten...  cooldude

Honest differences of opinion are fine and normal, but the personal bitterness isn't really helpful...

I was kind of illustrating the absurdity of his position by demonstrating "exaggerated absurdity" (carrying the liberal viewpoint to an extreme to demonstrate just how unviable, impractical and inconvenient such a viewpoint is)

You're right, Walkure is among the more rational and polite of the liberals I've encountered, and I'll be nicer now.

I stand appropriately chastized.  Embarrassed

I offer my apology to Walkure for any offense or hurt feelings, and I will be more civil in my future discourse.

But I stand by my statement that "An Inconvenient Truth" is the worst movie ever made. For a WIDE variety of reasons.

Mars Attacks!

Even though it had a star-studded cast, this movie’s only funny scenes were in the previews and trailer.  The rest was just filler in between the 3-4 funny parts.

Ok, here is my choice for worst movie ever.  Like "Mars Attacks", it had a lot of big names in it.  But, if there was a way to have a memory taken out of my brain it would be.... "Nothing but Trouble".
By far the worst movie I have ever seen.  Wife made me go see it with her.  I would have walked out if it weren't for her.....

Ah .... "Nothing But Trouble." I remember seeing that thing on the shelf at Block Buster and thinking, "Hey, It's got Dan Ackroyd, Demi Moore, and Chevy Chase. It's got to be decent." We rented it, ran home and put it in the VCR.
Many hours later as I slowly regained consciousness, I saw my wife, eyes glazed, still in a dazed stupor. Our traumatized brains eventually recovered enough to allow us to move off the couch. I wrapped the thing in several layers of newspaper and tinfoil, then dropped it in a lead lined box for return to the video store.

Setup:
My inlaws were (mom's passed) VERY God fearing, church going, tea-totaller, religious folks from down home, southern Indiana.  I have NEVER heard my father-in -law use profanity in any facet of his private life.  But they had also moved to the big city of Chicago, so were "enlightened" by the Windy City - to a point.
Dad loves westerns on TV and the movies.  In the mid 70's, due to a criminal threat to neighbors, the FBI contacted them and wanted to use their house for surveillance for an evening, and told them to go to a movie on the FBI.  Dad found a western at the theater to go to, so they were off with eager anticipation.

Well, there weren't too many REAL Westerns being made anymore in the 70's, not like in former years.  Mom and Dad didn't realize the change in the current Hollywood movies.

Can you imagine their shock after sitting down to enjoy a good old fashioned Western at the theater and having their senses assaulted by Mel Brook's "Blazing Saddles"?  Shocked

They lasted 20 minutes and walked out of the theater, dazed and confused!

To this day, Lady Di and I STILL laugh whenever we think about this. 2funny  2funny  2funny
"Blazing Saddles" would have been the complete antithesis of what their expectations of a Western would be. The ultimate surprise! Grin

(And fortunately, nothing criminal did take place and the FBI quietly left.)

Blazing Saddles would be Dad's pick, but not mine!  cooldude
