I took my first test ride with my (new to me) UniGo trailer. My first impression is, "AWESOME!"  It pulls really nice. I'd say that 90% of the time, I couldn't tell it was behind me.  A few times, I could feel a slight wiggle, but nothing bad.  It was mainly when the wind from oncoming trucks would blast me.  Our ride was right at 150 miles averaging 75-80 mph. Not many twisties, but lots of high speed sweepers. It tracked great.   cooldude

How much do ya think it would cost to repaint it?  I'm thinking about painting it to match my gas tank. Any suggestion's?

I like it!  I've added rails to my bags, does it look like I'd run in to any issues using their hitch mounting hardware?

It's kinda hard for me to say. I'm not sure how much clearance you have with the rails.
I took some pic's this evening to give you a little idea of how mine is set up. (and how much clearance there is.) The pictures aren't the best. It was a little dark out there.

My hitch started as a Big Bike Parts receiver hitch. But my neighbor (the welder) added a lot to it to make it more suitable for the UniGo. He also made the stinger that the Unigo part bolts to and slides into the receiver. It's been made so that the vertical part of the slide  butt's up right against the hitch. In the pics, everything that is painted black is either made or modified by him. The only "bike side" part that I used from Unigo is the part that attaches the bike to the trailer. It's crucial that the bike end of the hitch has ZERO movement.

Unigo sells adaptor's for receiver hitches, but I know each bike is a little different. I wanted to make sure it would fit, be stronger than it needs it be, and as tight as possible. My friend  was able to accomplish all of these.

If you have any other question's, I'll do my best to answer them.
See ya.

Congrats on one of the coolest trailers ever made!!!

Also... don't feel bad... I often check my mirrors just to make sure there's still a Uni-Go behind me.   Grin  You really do forget it's back there sometimes!!  OFTEN!!

A couple of tips from someone who has one (you may already know this, so forgive me if I'm stating the obvious)...

1) Pay CLOSE attention to weight distribution.  Heavy items go as far to the bottom as possible.  This will keep you from getting that "wiggle" at high speeds.

2) Pay CLOSE attention to weight distribution.  (I know... that's #1... it really does make that much of a difference on how it pulls.)

3) I find 25-30 PSI in the tire to work best when loaded (about 20 when empty).  The suspension works well... but has very short travel.

4) Be sure to put a little grease on the hitch connection every time you use it.  I neglected to do this at first, and the locking pin wore QUICKLY.  A little grease in there also makes it more quiet on bumpy roads.  I find a quick shot of spray on chain wax works well for this also.

5) Give yourself a little more "breaking" room... that trailer is light, but it'll still push you forward.  On the good side... you can jam the brakes as hard as you want... a Uni-Go doesn't cause the bike to "fish tail". (I found out the scary way.)

6) Careful when pulling it into your hotel room... some hotels have VERY narrow doors... while the Uni-Go WILL fit through ANY door, I have a few scuffs on mine from door jams when I wasn't paying attention.

7) ENJOY!!!!

I use Dupli-color's Paint shop paints. I used 1 quart each, red, white with clear metallic over it and then clear over the whole thing. Their paints come already mixed and ready to spray. If you shop around you can find it for about $12 - $15.00 a quart. And the color is close enough aaf a match for. (have even used the red to touch up small stone chips)

Thanks. I'm looking forward to useing it often.
Don't hesitate posting info even if it appears to be "obvious". I'm new to pulling a trailer. I can use all the tips I can get. Like #4.... Grease on the hitch connection. I've done that on a trailer hitch ball, but I didn't think about doing it on the Unigo trailer connection. Good idea.
Thanks again.

Great looking paint. I've got to go to work right now, but I'll look again when I get off. Very nice.
