Hi All,
Having a spot of bother trying to get LEDs for my turn signals.. apparently its something to do with the 2 side screws.. they keep telling me theirs only fit with 1 bottom screw.. so can anyone tell me if the VTX1800 turn signals are compatible / will fit on the Standard.. and how many screws they have.. recall
ps any alternative that fits will do..

I can't specifically answer your question regarding the VTX but my '03 Valk has the single bottom screw as did my '08 Shadow.  At what year Honda switched I don't know but there are Valk tail lights that might make the process a little easier.

The earlier Tourers and Standards have the 2 screw signal lens.  The I/S has the Single screw tab lens like the VTX.  I am not with either of my bikes this evening, but believe you can use the VTX signal light housings on the Valk.   Do you intend to use the led bulb or the led panel inside the signal housings?

I wrote up using VTX pods on a standard on my tech tips page a while ago.  I changed the sockets to dual-filiment type 1157 sockets - but that's not necessary if you modify the circuit as I detail in the schematic - you can simulate the same functions with that circuit. I put multi-LED boards in the back pods & left filiment bulbs in the fronts.  This was some time ago - did my own wiring to make the rears run stop & turn using relays.  Detailed in the article.  Also reduced the brightness of the runs so the turn / stop would be more obvious, using resistors.   These are clear lens pods, BTW.  Look nice.

Now that's what I want to do with my rear signals .. is that with clear or smoked lens.. also want to led the front one's as well with a self cancelling turn signal.. I think the Kisan signal minder SM3 is compatible with the blue dot function removed.. least ways that what i understood them to say..but i could be wrong.. recall

The easiest way to do this is get the turn signals off a 2000 or later standard or tourer.  The '97-99 fronts mount differently than the 2000 and later, so you're going to need the mounts also.  Install your led inserts and get a led turn signal flasher from custom dynamics.

Rear turn signals use 1156 bulbs and fronts use 1157.
