Just rode my bike with a GY ATT on it.  First darkside ride and first ride for me since November.  Had 36 psi in it and it seemed to ride pretty good.  Besides wanting to follow the slope of the road more than a regular tire and a little harder to crank her over for slow speed sharp turns, couldn't tell much of a difference.  Emergency braking is WONDERFUL!  Just wondering what psi you had in your darkside so I could see what's the most popular air pressure to try.

Your total load will be different than others. I converted mine to a solo ride. Goodyear TT running 36-38 psi. I check mine in the morning after sitting all night I know it's cool. This is my 3rd ct and I started setting the air pressure at 32 and would change it 2# every few days until I found the pressure I liked and should help the tire wear evenly.

When I went DarkSide last fall, I was advised by the members of McDarkSiders to run 40 psi for the 1st 1,000 miles to break in the sidewalls then to drop it in 2 psi increments until I was happy with the handling.  I ended up in 30-32 psi range.

At 35 PSI on my Falken I have even tread wear with maybe 15% usable tread left (if wear bars are 0%).  On my worn out E3 front tire (which I'm going to replace in a week with an Avon Cobra) I have no grooves at the 25°-30° lean angle areas of my tire and 1/32 in the middle.  This tells me that I have the right pressure for rear tire life and should tell you that I do my share of leaning.  I run 40-42 PSI in the front tire.

I'm running mid 20's currently. That pressure seems to have the most grip and best ride for me. I have been running @ this pressure for about a year with no noticable/measurable wear problems. I did start at 40 and worked my way down over the past couple years. I am of course as my name implies in the vast flatlands of south coastel Florida. I run the Mich Hydroedge 205/65 on mine.

I recently installed a federal 205/55/16 SS535 tire on my 2001 std..and tried it at 32, 34, 36, and 38..32 was like a flat rear tire and scary as hell..each 2 lbs improved the handling..I've been running 38 since that first day of trials and it seems to be about right..though I may try it at 40 and 42 to see what it does..(as soon as the snow goes away)..

I just went dark in late-August and only have about 9k on the darkside ... but, I like 36-38psig ... 42 was noticeably stiff on crappy MI Roads.
