RE: 1999 Valkyrie Interstate Pet rooster Service

I received the petcock cover set PN: 16953-MBZ-B51  (replaces 16953-MV9-000).  I assume the new part number reflects a new product that replaces the original for a specific reason.

I find in the new part package two parts not identified in the Petcock Service discussion on the Shop Talk page (http://www.valkyrieriders.com/shoptalk/petcock.htm).  The unexplained parts are: 1) a small rubber spacer that fits precisely into the vaccuum nipple side of the shell assembly, and: 2) a thick walled ferrule that fits precisely inside the spring.  Can anyone explain the proper installation order for the petcock with all of these parts.

It would seem that the new ferrule would fit inside the spring, the spring then fits into the spacer on the diaphram end and into the spacer in the nipple end of the shell.  However, it appears the two shell halves may not accomodate the ferrule without interferring with the intended movement of the diaphram.

Thank you.  That is exactly what I was looking for.  Glad I asked.  My perception was off completely.
