Installed a Goodyear TT on one of my Valks a couple of weeks ago and so far I like it. My impression is pretty much the same as all the reviews I read on here. The only thing I wonder about is it seems like potholes and bumps are much harsher now than they were on a bike tire. Based on what I read I'm running 40psi should I start lowering it, maybe the unsprung weight is more on the car tire causing the bumps to be harder. Almost feels like it is bottoming out however does not show signs of rubbing anywhere. All in all I'm pretty sure the other Valk will get the same treatment soon. Hect this switch felt so good within 7 miles I was on the interstate shifting into 5th a 95mph on a long sweeping curve. Maybe I'm just hitting the bumps harder than I used to.

I also run the Goodyear TT. It will soften up with say...33lbs but becomes more vulnerable to creases or ridges in the pavement or dirt. You will get used to that as you have at 40psi. Just realize that if you're one handin' it and hit a wrinkle in the asphalt-your eyes will get big.

I run 36 in mine. Bumps are bumps. I've never noticed a MAJOR change in how they feel in regards to different psi...Darkside or not. The only way to know would be to hit the same pothole at the same speed after changing air pressure.

May want to adjust your rear coil springs and try dif. settings. Also to make sure your tire is not rubbing the nut cages. I find the car tire to be a softer ride.Wife as a pass. does to.

I removed the nut cages and as a general rule it does ride smoother however when you hit a hard bump it seems harsher. I'll try dropping the pressure and maybe crank the shocks up another notch and see what happens. Thanks for the replies.

Bump Stear is the word I was looking for (saw on forum). I live on a dirt road and found less air meant more B.S. I also find that the characteristics fade as tire gets broken in a little.

Run 40 psi until you've got the sidewalls broken in, about 1,000 miles. Then start dropping the the pressure 2 psi at a time until you're happy with the ride. As the pressure drops, the tendency of the tire to follow ruts in the road will go down. My Toyo Proxes TPT sits between 30 and 32 and I love it there.

I concur with the drop the PSI approach.
I run 32 in the Falken on my standard 1-up. I run about 38 in the Altimax HP on the IS 2-up. (We're 575 lbs together)
Good luck and let us know what you figure out!

Hey Art!!! May I inquire as to what tire you ride? Did you have a 105 tire and then gone to the 95? Just wondering what your impression was between the two. Thanks

Hey Lee I concur with adjusting the pressure. I ride with 34 psi solo and 36 two up. The TT might be different, but youll find that sweet spot.

Glad to see your are still here. Met the guy from Dixon again last week with the interstate, said he lurks here and just reads the posts. I'm not complaining about the switch, matter of fact I already have the TT for the other Valk. Got maybe 300 miles on this one now and as for handling charateristics I would say 70% positive and maybe 10% negative and 20% equal, love the handling on the interstate.
