I just put new brakes on my 98 Standard with 45000 milies on it.  I probably had another 10000 but I was looking for something to do and put them on.  The new brakes (Honda OEM) squeal a little bit, not under normal or hard braking, but when I let up on them as I'm coming to a stop.  It's driving me crazy.  Will they wear in?  I've only got about 50 miles on the bike since I put them on.  Any other ideas?

Squirt them with WD-40 that'll take care of the problem.

try getting up to speed and do a couple of fast stops to help seat the pads in.

        Actually, the pads should be broken in with GENTLE  braking for the first 100 or so miles.  It lets them gradually form to the rotors.  If you do hard braking the smaller pressure areas can cause excess heat and warp the rotor and ruin the pads.
Your opinion may differ but the results will be the same.

I replaced pads and installed stainless steel braided brake lines before InZane.  The brakes were a little better immediately, but nothing like they are now.   cooldude

Give them a chance to get seated in.     Slow to moderate braking for the 1st 100 to 150 miles.

I'm assuming these are OEM rotors.......

Don't mix after market pads with OEM rotors. and if you have or will be replacing the rotors, put their own brand of pad on it....

They are OEM rotors (originals) and the new pads are OEM.
