What a perverted view of capitalism and the "American Way". MP As much as I Hate to agree with Walküre I think lately hes right. It seems every day we are confronted with people not doing the right thing. This includes our congress heads of government and just business in general. I have been in these kind of business take overs and it just isn't right but its the way. Bunch of A@@ kissers all get together to ride the gravy train.

maybe from a business corporate world perspective they probably are all laughing on the way to the bank and at the draconian IRS.
maybe I need to make a stockup run to my local HF. I haven't brought any tools since last yr and I'm getting the itch.

REA-lly??? HA!! That IS the concept - "buy for one, sell for four...that 3% adds up!!". Whirlpool up 164%...posted July 20th... http://www.thecitywire.com/?q=node/10901July 4th - Whirlpool moves plant to Mexico, 1000 jobs lost... http://www.kfvs12.com/Global/story.asp?s=4888250Excerpt's from 2nd closing link: Whirlpool Corporation made the decision to shut down operations at three North American facilities. Their decision to close up the plant in Herrin will cost the region $35,000,000 annually in payroll. "I'm 51 years old, and I've got to find a job. I've got to compete with all the 20 year olds, and 30 year olds out there. Thankfully my kids are grown and I only have to worry about myself. But I've still got to make it until I'm old enough to retire," says Mike Soeder of Herrin. "We were working the assembly line and they shut it down. And then they sent us all to the warehouse to tell us it was over. That they were shutting down by the end of the year. It was heartbreaking," says Katrena Sims of Herrin. More on earnings - July 19th... http://www.signonsandiego.com/news/2010/jul/19/earnings-preview-whirlpool-corp/And, MORE on the closing... http://crooksandliars.com/susie-madrak/whirlpool-moving-plant-mexico-while-cTHIS one starts out: You'll remember I wrote about this before, when I first found out Whirlpool took millions in bailout money and then announced they were moving this plant to Mexico.
Now they've closed the plant and soon the town will turn into a ghost town Doesn't affect you, though, so why should YOU care, right? And in the meantime, the Pubs are screaming for tax cuts for the wealthiest, to continue. Because "they make jobs"...sure they do, jobs in CHINA, MEXICO, MALAYSIA, and everywhere else, except HERE!! I keep hearing the yelling, "We want to take our country BACK!!!"...back to where?? The stone age??? R

Actually, San Diego was always my dream retirement spot but I could never afford that now, and Cali seems to have their share of problems. Actually, Colorado looks better and better. "I keep hearing the yelling, "We want to take our country BACK!!!"...back to where?? The stone age???" back to "FOR THE PEOPLE,BY THE PEOPLE"! When you couldnt get away with building your trucks in Canada and Mexico, calling it Made in the U.S.A. and expecting people to buy them. But I guess if people dont buy them,The people will be FORCED to buy the whole P.O.S. company any how. Back to when the U.S.A. was respected by the rest of the world. They dont have to like us,but we used to be respected! Back to when kids learned valuable life lessons from grand dad (and his stories about 2 bulls looking down at all the cows in the Valley),Not how to shoplift in Wal-mart from Mom Or how to be obscene and rude to the waitresses from Dad. Back when if you spit on a cop,you went to jail PERIOD and if a liberal judge called it freedom of expression the Judge got tarred and feathered BY THE PEOPLE FOR THE PEOPLE! I think we could go back to when inattentive driving was illegal and we didnt need to spend hundreds of thousands of legislative dollars to decide that texting was inattentive! Back when you earned it,made it do ,or done WITHOUT ! I could go on for freakin DAYS! but it is a great question! Knowing now what we did not know then...How far back should we start over? At the writing of the constitution? After the first 15 or so amendments? Back to the gold standard? Maybe the 50's ? 60's? What's every one else think? Where did it go wrong?

It went wrong when people refused to start taking personal responsibility for their own actions. Political correctness was a start....(before it was called that).
I think these lyrics by the Eagles sum it up nicely.
I turn on the tube and what do I see A whole lotta people cryin’ ’don’t blame me’ They point their crooked little fingers ar everybody else Spend all their time feelin’ sorry for themselves Victim of this, victim of that Your momma’s too thin; your daddy’s too fat
Get over it Get over it All this whinin’ and cryin’ and pitchin’ a fit Get over it, get over it
You say you haven’t been the same since you had your little crash But you might feel better if I gave you some cash The more I think about it, old billy was right Let’s kill all the lawyers, kill ’em tonight You don’t want to work, you want to live like a king But the big, bad world doesn’t owe you a thing
Get over it Get over it If you don’t want to play, then you might as well split Get over it, get over it
It’s like going to confession every time I hear you speak You’re makin’ the most of your losin’ streak Some call it sick, but I call it weak
You drag it around like a ball and chain You wallow in the guilt; you wallow in the pain You wave it like a flag, you wear it like a crown Got your mind in the gutter, bringin’ everybody down Complain about the present and blame it on the past I’d like to find your inner child and kick it’s little ass
Get over it Get over it All this bitchin’ and moanin’ and pitchin’ a fit Get over it, get over it
Get over it Get over it It’s gotta stop sometime, so why don’t you quit Get over it, get over it

interesting reading, actually. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_correctnessI think a lot of this crap took hold during the late 80's with mtv basically preaching "if you don't have it, take it" with the, then current, crop of rap music.

I keep hearing the yelling, "We want to take our country BACK!!!"...back to where?? The stone age??? R I take offense at attacking capitalism. It has given this country, and the workers, all they have. I am 55, and have had a job for just under 6 months of that time. The rest I have developed and grown businesses. I am a, excuse the cuss word, capitalist. I believe in the free market, not the govt, determining things. I believe in hard work getting ahead. I have started and grown businesses, and now employ people. I have never averaged under 80 hours a week working. I find it offensive that you attack me, and millions of others like me, personally, and say we are destroying the country. My workers would not have a job without me. I work longer hours then they do. Pay is over $20/hr, plus full benefits. Many years they make more money than I do. We have many jobs here, over $20/hr, that go unfilled. Why will people not work here? I am tired of listening to unemployed people complain, but be unwilling to move to a job. Maybe they need to get off government assistance, and go to work. Maybe they need to get hungry. MP

Yes. Land of lots of jobs, good pay, under 4% unemployment, and LESS misquetos than Minnesota! LOL Also a very low state tax rate and cost of living. We truly do need workers. Every business I go into is looking for help. As I say, I have a real hard time feeling sorry for someone who is out of work for over a year, but will not go to work when good jobs are begging. Now, slackers, druggies, etc need not apply. Most jobs require drug testing, and about 75% of out of staters fail that. Kind of tells you where the US work force is, doesn't it? MP
