I'm considering a ride to the Buffalo County Fair in Kearney on July 30th and would prefer a nicer ride versus superslab all the way.  Coming from DFW, so suggestions on roads to take would be appreciated.

Why go there?  It's a nice 600+ mile ride and my wife will be there.

Thanks

Rain,

I would say once you get to Kansas you can catch the following if you want to. I would recommend this mom and pop restaurant in Harper, KS Country Creamery and Ice Cream Parlor Then you can head north to the Hutchinson Salt Mine Museum http://www.undergroundmuseum.org/reservations.shtml.  Then travel north to highway 36 and go west to where there is a landmark that you are geographically in the center of the US here is a map of the places of interest that I have mentioned.  A= Arlington,Tx   B= Country Creamery in Harper,ks   C= Hutchinson Underground Museum   D =  Geographically Center of U.S  and E=  Kearney, NE.

Example of Route   Just a thought!  The museum is really cool us local KS VRCC members did a tour of the museum last year and had a blast!

Let me know if you have any other questions.

All appreciated.  I don't know the roads so sometimes the map shows a route that is a minefield of potholes, etc.  I'll definitely look over he suggestions.
