As I've posted before, the Texas state ride-in will be May 8-10 (Friday through Sunday)

The hotel has now been set:
YO Resort, in Kerrville, at
2033 Sidney Baker
Kerrville, Texas 78028
(830) 257-4440
Toll Free 1-877-967-3767
Their website is http://www.yoresort.com/

We will be there Friday night and Saturday night, checking out Sunday morning.  We have a block of rooms set aside for us, at a group discount of $85 per night plus taxes.  The rooms will be held until three weeks from our check-in date.  Make your own reservation, but when you do, tell them you're with the Texas VRCC, and you'll get in on that block.  If you can't make the reservation before three weeks prior, you can still call in for a reservation, you just might not get a room, and you might not get the better rate.
I know I got some responses when I first mentioned this, but please respond here if you're intending to go, so I know if we need to try to expand the block of rooms we have.  I will post this on the national board as well.  Please respond in one place or the other, not both.

As for other activities:
Thursday evening is a supplemental BBQ at Hotglue's near Houston (no, it isn't the GOTF.  That's unchanged.  Yes, it's still a Hotglue BBQ, so you know it'll be good.)
Friday daytime will be travel for everyone to get to Kerrville (I will post a proposal for Houston to Kerrville on a separate topic).
Friday night will be for general arrival and tire-kicking.
Saturday will be riding and eating (details/routes TBA)
Sunday will be departure, with a group ride in the AM leading directly into the homeward journey.

Sorry to just now seeing this post. I have a good excuse though because we just got back from a trip to Big Bend National Park. Bettina and I plan to make the journey from the Texas Hill Country to meet up with the Houston folks to see our old friend Dag again and attend the BBQ that Hotglue is throwing for him on Thrusday. We'd also like to ride with you all to Kerrville that Friday, May 8th. That is if you'll have us - while riding our other Valkyrie (that's spelled Gold Wing). I'll stop by my house in Boerne (while you all continue to Kerrville) and pick up one on my Valks for the Hill County Ride In activities. We have made reservations at the YO already. Look forward to seeing you all again.

Janet & I confirmed yesterday.  We won't be able to get to Houston for the BBQ (again!   Cry), but will meet everyone in Kerrville Friday.  Can't wait!

Done.
I also put in the Thursday BBQ that's tied to it.
According to the calendars Scott has up for national use, we're up there too.  I'm not clear on whether he's really on the ball and took care of it for us, or whether one of us put it up there, but it's there.

Well, I promised this, but am just now getting to it:

One of the requirements for Stephanie and I to make it to Kerrville on the 8th is that we must drop off the little one with her grandparents in the Austin area prior to continuing on  to Kerrville.  Stephanie will drive the car out there, and I will pick her up on the Valkyrie on Friday.  Anyone that wants to take what I will call "the scenic route" is welcome to join us.  I will do my best to figure out an interesting route over and then down.
Here's the general plan:
BBQ at HotGlue's Thursday evening.
Retire to whereever it is you will lay your head that night.
Friday morning, meet in the general vicinity of HotGlue's (specific location to be determined based on who will join us).
Head northwest to Austin.  Route to be announced.
Meet up in Austin with Stephanie.  Anyone local to Austin (or passing through there) is welcome to join us then.  Location will be in Lakeway (west side of town).
Head south to Kerrville.
Saturday- ride etc. in Kerrville vicinity.
Sunday- Reverse the procedure.

Whoever's interested is welcome to join us on any or all of the steps listed above.  Just holler, and I'll make sure we coordinate with you.

My plan is to head down (hopefully with others) during the day on Friday to Kerrville.  As you can see from my avatar, the sidecar is already full, so Julie and the kids are currently planning on caging it down that way after school is over Friday.  Julie has offered to bring extra "stuff" on a space available basis with no fuel or delivery surcharges although if there is red wine waiting when she gets there, she is unlikely to turn it down.

Suggest you email me directly if you could use some fuel service or if you have an SO who wants to go, but doesn't want to ride down on two wheels.

Is the cow an officially registered Texas VRCC member?  What's her handle?

Her given name is Elsie, but as long as you have hay, she answers to darn near anything.
