on a goldwing site steve saunders has a goldwing history page on all year wings and in it says that in 97 goldwing used a lot of parts from the valkyrie and that they share the same final drive I don't know just wondering if they would work

I believe the meaning in that post was that gear ratios are teh same.  I have watched many dicussions on this and the consensus seems to be that all but one final drive bolt lines up from wing to valk.  Now I do know that some 1500 wings use the same drive shaft, so that means the pinion cup must be the same and probably u-joint.  But as far as I know the swing arms are always different

The spline flanges both Male and Female are interchangeable from a GL1500 Goldwing to the Valk. These are the only parts I know of that are the same in both rear diff's.
