Between 4th and 5th?

Seems like it happened a few weeks ago during hard acceleration... I'm fairly certain. Don't want to write any smack about our beautiful Valks.

I had just finished doing yard work. Had to swap bike for lawnmower in garage. I was pretty tired, and took the Valk for a short run. Maybe I did a lazy shift...

Anyone ever experienced this?

Kickshifter? sometimes it will start to hang up a little and not shift properly.

I have one between 2nd and 3rd.  I have had it a LONG time.  I tried to figure it out on here years ago.  Sometimes mine doesn't shift out of 2nd and sometimes it hits that false neutral.  It's annoying... but if I shift VERY deliberately, it doesn't happen.

The way both of ya described yours, it is a lazy shift.

The kickshifter isn't set right if it gives ya one.

Ya need to drop the shift lever 1 tooth on the shift arm coming out of the tranny..
It raises the rear of the kickshifter so as to not give that lazy shift.

Mine hasn't done it again since I dropped 1 tooth.

So we understand each other in the drop 1 tooth.
That is move the shifter 1 tooth clockwise, gives the rear peg of the kickshifter more room to move..

Thanks! I'll try that.

My kickshifter had similar troubles when I first got the Valkyrie (kickshifter installed by PO).  I finally looked at it side by side with someone's who had no troubles.  I adjusted it to match, and the troubles, while not going away entirely, changed from an "everytime" thing, to a "rarely" thing.

For the longest time, I've had the same issue between 1st and 2nd.  Very annoying and embarassing when taking off from a red light or stop sign and it pops out of 2nd and back into neutral!  Mostly a lazy thing as it mostly happens later in the trip when I'm tired, or if I'm cheating and just wearing my sneakers and not a pair of boots.
 Nice firm shifts on startup!

Have never had a false neutral, but sometimes can't find the real mccoy neutral. Wish there was a button to push to make the real neutral appear.
