I plan to do the complete parkway in August, starting on the south end,we are going to trailer the bikes as close to that point as possible, but not a clue where i can leave  3 pickups & 16 ft trailers.I'me sure i am at the bottom of a long list who have done this.So I can use all info i can get.we plan to do the dragon tail AGAIN but from there i'me lost.Any heads up on where to turn, stop, eat or sleep (HOTEL/MOTEL)would really help out. Especially where to leave pickups?                                                  THANKS HARRY

I live outside of Knoxville, Tennessee in Clinton. I'm right at 85 miles to the end of The Blue Ridge Parkway at Cherokee, North Carolina mile marker 469 on the BRP.Just cross The Great Smoky Mountains from here and you are in Cherokee. You are welcome to park here .

To start with here's a mile by mile guide to the BRP

Lotsa places to sleep just off the BRP. You're really spolit for choice. All depends upon your budget.

Little Switzerland has the Mountain View Motel 828-766-9670 and these

There are motels in Galax, VA and a great BBQ place http://www.thegalaxsmokehouse.com/us.html

I'd recommend riding up Waterrock Knob, Mt. Mitchell and Ravens Roost. Plenty of great overlooks. You can tell the good ones without trees obstructing the views. It's easy to do a ride through the overlooks to determine which to stop at.

I just rode the BRP from Cherokee to north of Boone/Blowing Rock and there was very little 2 wheeled traffice. Suprising for summer.
