Bulb Replacement.

The bulb has a base with wire pigtail. Looks like the bulb itself can be pulled out of base. I have tried to pull bulb out. Afraid to pull to hard as to damage something.

Does the bulb actually come out of base to be replaced or bulb, base, and pigtail all one unit ?

Should be a standard H3 Bulb, pigtail is attached to the bulb. Ususally has some kind of clip holding it in from the back side.

Yep standard H3 bulb any auto store or tractor supply store will have them even Walmart carries them.

I would suggest going with one of the PIIA bulbs, I went with the 55watt (it's supposedly equal to 100watt) and it's light output was DREMATICALLY improved and much witter of a light. They do not seem to last as long and are pricey but they sure do work good. Just make sure you dont get any finger prints or other body oils on them they will over heat and burn out very quickly.

H3 SERIES INTENSE WHITE is the one I used. Shop ebay for them or 4x4 websites are another good choice to find them.

You might need to massage the mounting base on most non OEM bulbs they use a more square slot for locating the proper rotation of the bulb and the OEM uses more of a rounded slot for location. If memory serves me I know I had to run a very small file through the slot a few times to make sure it fit flat into the fog light housing. I have been running the current ones for well over 3 years now and one burnt out last year so I temporarily put in the original stock bulb on that side and already ordered the PIAA replacement just not installed it yet.
