well its official

Oss is the LAST person you want to have work on your vehicle

Turns out that hole I put the bolt & JBWeld on were SUPPOSED to be there.  I checked another reservoir cover and yep there is a vent hole there.  So I drilled a new vent hole next to the nice one that I closed Shocked tickedoff

Seems that the radiator cap on that reservoir cover was not sealing so the pressure never built enough and the fan wouldnt go on, which led to the overheating.

I did learn that pulling a certain plug will leave the fan on all the time which is a great emergency measure

My client the auto mechanic has the car working fine now  new cap, checked the sensors etc all is good
temp is below the 1//2 mark all the time

you live and learn ............

Thanks gear jammer and ricky and the others who offered suggestions or just told me that I was wrong

lol

Well gee Oss.........you just may have added a third weapon in the (High Tech) redneck bag of tricks

1.  It moves and aint possed to = Duct Tape

2.  Stuck = WD-40

Now #3

3.  Got a hole = JB Weld

See, the old fashoned redneck wudda used the Duct Tape on the hole too, but its way hard to stop a leak with tape and much tape around and around very tight is needed, that also gives the proper redneck repaired look..........JB Weld is uptown.....saves tape........very green!
