I broke the bolt that holds the rear brake reservoir on the left side of the engine.  I know I need to get it out and put a new one in, but I've got a transmission cover that holds it inside it, so it's not like it's flopping around or anything.  I'm heading out to Sturgis this Friday, will probably put bout 5K miles on before I get back, so wondering if I need to take it somewhere and get it done before I go or if it's ok enough to go and take care of it when I get back.  What say you?

Hit it with a couple of wraps of good ol' duct tape to keep it from chafing on anything & hit the road.
You know.... Duct tape is in your heritage! Grin Grin Grin Grin  mine too! cooldude

You broke a bolt !! Shame on you..  Smiley  No big deal, drill it, tap it and replace it..Or is it held on with a stud?? Even so, that would be even easier..  It shouldn't take long to do,, just a couple beers worth of time.. BTW, was your bike made in the southern hemisphere ??

Hey BD64, if it's the rear brake reservoir on the left side of the engine, then you have nothing to worry about. Now, if it was the rear reservoir on the right side then maybe.....   Wink

I'm with the one post on this, I'd get it right before leaving. You don't need something stuck in the back of your mind for 5000 miles....wondering if it's creating a problem.

My wife tells me I need to paint L and R on my big toe nails for when I'm running around barefoot. That, coming from someone that says "north" is whatever direction she's facing.  Cheesy
