Okay, I cut the piggies off flush with the exhaust thinking the next step fairly easy.  I was wrong.  I had to end up cutting off several inches of the outside canister just to be able to grab the baffles.  Granted they were only tack welded on one side, but removal wasn't easy.  Now here is my problem.  The three fins look horrible and I want to know how to remove them.  Are they spot welded to the next plate or just to the inside of the exhaust?  I didn't drill or bother the front baffles yet.  Its louder, but my wife said its not as loud as my 6 into 6 pipes.  I was hoping for more sound.  I am planning on putting 36" stacks on after this mod.  Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Ditto, I did the same and really like the sound, deep but not load.  Also I used liquid soap all over the inside of the stack and pipes and the went on very easy

I assume you where trying to do the Ragnar Cut.  Should'a used a hole saw to cut three holes.....one around each baffle.

After cutting the holes, the trick to removing the baffles was to grab them with a set of vise grips and begin with a twisting motion back and forth (not rocking back and fourth, but give them a twist).  They do come out that way.  Maybe this will help.......

Since you've gone further than that, I'm not sure about the fins.

I think I've read before that fudgie had cut part (or all) of his canisters off of his pipes.  You might want to pm him and see if he has any insights....but he might already be on his way to Sturgis by now.

Also, ask Mark T.....either through here or his web site.  If anybody knows about the innerds of the Valk's pipes, I'd guess it would be him.

Here is Mark's web site....

Thanks everyone for your comments.  I guess I went too far with this mod.  I think the only thing left to do now is cut off all but 3" and do the glass pack modification.  Have to do this another day.  Going to put the 6 into 6 back on for now.  Thanks again!

Send fudgie a pm.  I think I remember him saying on here once that instead of doing the Ragnar Cut, he just cut the canister off at the rear just eliminating just the rear baffles and the fines.  If I understood, I think he left the rest of the pipe intack with the front baffles still untouched.  Then he did the truck stack thing.

Anyway, pm him.
