Hi everyone,
Just acquired a '97 Tourer 2 days ago.  Been riding off and on since 1975 - Ya I'm an old guy.  Really like this Valk.  Already I've received 3 out of the blue comments from younger lovely women about my beautiful bike.  I think my ego boost may exceed my fun of riding.  I look forward to learning from all of ya'all on service and maintenence issues.
Have Fun Riding,
Chris

Welcome, You may want to invest in a larger helmet as the compliments keep on coming.

I had three on the way home the other night at 1:AM.

Just part of the fun.

don't let the comments by the "younger lovely women" go to your head-I bet they called you "sir"! That takes a lot out of it!
this would be the right place to get all the Valk info you could ever use.

Thanks for the greetings!  I've updated my profile to show answers to your questions.

I've always been a Honda guy and really liked the Valk when it came out.  After riding one I was hooked. Been looking for about a year now and found this clean one nearby.  Appears to be clean as a whistle and only 12K miles.

RJ,  I'm in western Arkansas - updated profile.

Tom, I'm already a 3X by genetics - I guess I need to vent the ego cause its already hard to find a helmet that size.

Ricoman, I understand what you're saying sir.

Here's a couple of pics:

cooldude Looks like a VERY clean one from the pics. 1st order should be to make sure it has the proper maintenance to the drive line even with the low miles.

Very nice choice. The green and cream is also my favorite. Just like my 97 tourer, and first Valk.

If you are ever in a hurry and on your Valk, don't stop ANYWHERE.  You'll end up talking to someone almost every time.

I get a lot of talk from people when I am on my blue/pearl Std.  Not so much on the IS.  But I ride Blue whenever it's nice out.  Green (IS) is for days I might get rained on, and when I got a passenger.

Welcome to the club.  I see you have paid your dues.

Welcome from one of your Okie neighbors.  You have a good looking bike and some great roads in your neighborhood to ride it on.  You can learn a lot in "Shop Talk" and what is not printed there is to be found between the ears of many in this fine group.  And as previously mentioned, do not skip the regular checking of the drive train.  Ride safe and may the force go with you...JTL  Smiley

What a beautiful bike.  That is color my hubby wanted but couldn't find when he was looking.  He got Sedona Red/Creme instead.  I have a fast black n chrome.

ENJOY, it is a GREAT bike.

I just bought a 2000 Val standard.  Only 14,000 mi.  Black and Red beauty. It has a small scratch on the front fender, but besides that looks new!! This bike is pure pleasure to ride.  I put new rubber (Metzelers were recommended) on it just to be safe as the original tires were slightly rotted and am happy to say they are great!!  Mechanic says this bike is in top notch condition.  Yahoo!!
