So, finally decided where to mount this thing.

didn't want a cord dangling from the front so I found a spot to put it. Now, just figuring out how to get it mounted in the trunk. I didn't search the tech board so I just started taking out screws. About 30 screws later. I had her apart. The screws that hold the tub to the exterior trunk are hid by the rubber seal. Use a #1 screw driver to keep from messin up the rubber. There are also screws underneath that hold the tub in place. And go ahead and take all the screws out.

I drilled a 7/8" hole, placed the plate in place, drilled two holes for the plate, and mounted the recp.

It took some extra hands to get it back together so I could ride yesterday evening. Son James, and new friend and fellow Valk rider, Cameron. He was at the house with his bike so we could do a darkside conversion. They were looking for a place to make a ground connection. I ended up putting the ground at the side cover bolt.

Wire connections.

Finished product.

looks good!
did you have to cut any out of the outer? does it stick into the speaker pod?
I will be doing something like this, but for now I ran the wires and have a weather proof one back there not mounted... I couldn't decide where to put it.  but I like the flush mount you did..

thanks

It does stick into the speaker pod but don't plan on adding speakers. And certainly don't plan on selling either, so, It's completely out of the way. I can plug in my cell phone charger and hit the road with it out of sight and mind. It could be mounted lower leaving room for a future speaker if you plan on doing so.

Another good spot is back between the lock and tail light, just remove the tail light, drill the hole from the inside with a step bit, insert the Acc Plug and run the wire or wires out the bottom hole of the trunk where the tail light wire exit the trunk. Doing it this way you don't have to dis-assemble the trunk.

Looks nice
Here was my solution. Kept it outside so I could plug my heated cloths in.
