Anybody going to the Durango/Ignacio Bike Rally?

http://www.fourcornersbikerrally.com/

http://www.ignaciobikeweek.com/

We'll be staying in Cortez which is 46 miles West of Durango.  Hotels are 1/3 to 1/2 the price of Durango and it provides a good "home base" for travels through the area.

Sounds like a lot of fun...

I think I have a trip to Montana scheduled for that week. Maybe I can push Montana back a couple of days and go to Four Corners/Ignacio. I'll check with the boss and see what she says.

I doubt that any other rally or ride will ever be as close to my house as this one. If not this year, maybe next year...

Cruzen,

Check out Blondie's in Cortez, good food, nice waitstaff!  There is also the Sugarpine Ranch Rally just outside of Mancos.  They dropped entry to $10, and $10 tent sites.  I've gone since 2003.  Three of us ride down and stay with friends near Aztec, NM.  Lots of great roads to ride!

Yep, we'll attend some of the festivities at Blondies here's their Friday list of activities:

Cougar Lingerie Show at 1:00 p.m. (win a $200 Victoria's Secret Gift Certificate)
Hula Hoop contest at 2:00 p.m.
$1.00 per minute Massage Chairs 2:30 to 4:30 p.m.
(Proceeds to benefit Homes for Heroes)
Cold Beer, Hot Chicks and the best burgers in town all weekend long!

Sounds like an interesting place. cooldude

Look for the Comfort Inn  on the East side of Cortez as you come in from Durango.  They have a shed out front for parking motorcycles in.  I have stayed there a few times over the last few years when I visit Mesa Verde.

Have fun, I wish I were going to be there!

Farmington NM should also be considered if your looking for a room. I lived in Farmington for a couple of years and my favorite way of getting up to Durango is 170/140. Much quieter and less traffic than 550.

Rowdy and all others,
If you're in the Durango Four Corners area and see a black IS drop a note on the seat or stop by and say hello.  We'll be coming up from Scottsdale through Flagstaff this trip and head in to Cortez from the West.
