When I first got my '97 standard I did a top end run.....130 indicated witha full sized Honda Shield...it was still inching up but I just wanted to see if I could hit 130mph....I knoe, I know it reads high........but the dang thing hit 130 on the speedo, I was pleased.

I hit 128mph (indicated) on my tourer once with my totally blind 85 year old friend on the back. He was quite the biker back in the day when he still had his sight. Harley road captain and all that. Everytime we are out for a ride and someone comments on the Valk he will say "It's a nice bike but it will only go 128 miles an hour!"
I am the only person he has ever ridden behind, and I try to give him a memorable ride every time I take him out. I rarely go over 90 nowadays, though. Bad stuff can happen very quickly at triple digits.

After a 110 I stop looking down at the speedo. I haven't went much over that, and I only do that on wide open roads. Otherwise I hover between the speed limit and 80ish.

On my 98 Shadow 1100 we were out on a nice day cruising on long deserted stretch of 2 lane through the woods... speedo indicated 120mph.
On my 99 Valk I/S riding alone amongst some traffic on I95... got tired of watching all the idiots and felt theatened by all the stupidity around me at the edge of the city... twisted the throttle and left them all in my rear view... felt so good I kept it going... so silky smooth all the way with speedo slipping over 130.
Fastest I have ever gone ( while on the ground) was driving a racecar around Pocono Racetrack... No speedo in the car but with Tach readings it indicated @ 168mph down the frontstretch on the chart. I'd love to sit in a car and see how a real driver gets around that track bumping 200 mph.

Fast enough, and more ... 125 with all my luggage (and crosswind). It was shaking so bad that I had to bite my teeth together to prevent my dental fillings to fall out.

Several years ago, my brother and I were riding down I79 on our way to Barnhardts Honda in Ruff Creek, PA. We got stuck in construction traffic on the way down. Well it finally opened up to 2 lanes again, and that section of highway is over 2 miles as straight as an arrow. Well, He cranked his bike (Suzuki RF600 sportbike) so I cranked the Valk and chased after him. Well, when we pulled into the bike shop, we were both half way laughing. He goes, "Man, I don't know how fast you were going, but my bike was swinging past 115 when you went around me." I told him I had no idea either cause I was too scared to look down...lol!

Around 105mph (indicated) for a few miles of nice wide open road just south of Luling, TX on HWY 183 on my way to my brother's place in Victoria. Clear skies and a slight tail wind. Had just passed a big truck who was traveling the speed limit (65mph) and just kind of stayed in the throttle. Kept cruising at high speed for a while enjoying the countryside and the long, sweeping curves of the road. The bike felt great - smooth and plenty of throttle left...finally looked down and noticed the speedometer... whoops! Had not intended to go that fast for so long - something you have to watch out for on the Valk!

This was like 4 years ago: 84 MPH (had the trailer behind 'er, too) in a 55 zone......at least that's what the Polk County (WI) Sheriff's Deputy that I talked to after going through their speed trap said That's the fastest I'll admit to; I've $paid$ for the right to admit to that much.

Trip East last month on 99 I/S with over sized windshield. Clear road in the westbound lane half way thru Saskatchewan. Passed a tractor-trailer, car in front of him, car, minivan, pickup, Winnebago and back into my lane. Let go of the throttle and looked down. 133 or so, and I was still accelerating when I backed off. Bike was smooth and rock solid; I suddenly needed a smoke, a drink and a bathroom... Fred.

I was in the Navy in Pensacola in 1977 and had a Honda CB350F a four-cylinder, four-stroke, 347cc motorcycle. Redline: 10,000rpm Top speed: 97mph // 159 km/h Power: 34hp // 24.8 KW @ 9500 rpm 0-60 in 8,5 seconds 178 kg // 392.4 pounds One night coming back from beach, downhill on long bridge,I broke 100 mph. Dropped bike in intersection at 1st light in Pensacola because my legs were shaking so bad.
