I am actively working on building a database of all the Valkyries registered in Texas, nearly 1000. I intend to start mailings in the near future in an effort to bring awareness that the Texas VRCC is alive and kicking. This would be the perfect opportunity to revive chapters that have sufered from inactivity or lack of participating members.

This is also an effort to identify bikes that are slowly expiring from a lack of attention and possibly get them in the hands of someone that will maintain her and give her the road time she needs.

The DFW Chapter has acquired the domain TexasValkyrieRiders.com If you would like an email address (yourroadename)@TexasValkyrieRiders.com shoot me an email or message me.

I think it is time to plan a Texas state Valkyrie Ride In. We have lots of great places to ride in the state but I think most would agree that the Hill Country is probably the ideal location. If there is interest in a spring ride in, speak out.

Ghillie,  That sounds great! cooldude  Laser Pat and I have been working on getting more Valkyrie riders together here in Central Texas and Old Geezer is eager to do the same in San Antonio.  We've actually had some success!  Met up with a new Valkyrie owner just last night through a local riding club and we met two new-to-the-VRCC riders at the breakfast Pat hosted a couple of weeks ago.
Rocketman -Mark - has been working on getting some inactive names off the Texas VRCC officers list, too.

Anyway,  sending you a PM for an email address.

At the July meeting for the Houston area riders...we discussed planning a ride to Kerriville and/or Fedricksburg. There are several hotels that are biker friendly and lotzzzzzzzzzzzzz of wonderful roads to explore. I say let's have us a Texas Ride-in in the hill country....fb

Yes, we did discuss that.  We have had one each year for quite a while.  I know I'm somewhat delinquent in planning this round, but I will be contacting the principal players in the various chapters to discuss what to do about that.  Should have something coming out soon.

Heck, I don't care where, just don't make it Halloween weekend or the first weekend in November.  Halloween is Romp in the Swamp and the next weekend is the Lone Star Rally in Galveston.  Both of them are a Large time!

I thought we were talking about a spring ride in. The DFW Chapter is planning a fall color ride in Arkansas late oct early nov, that is if Houdini ever figures out his schedule.

We based out of there on the 2008 Hill Country Ride.  The lady innkeeper (Deb) is very, very nice and rides.  The room was cozy and the beds soft.  I loved the place and will stay there again.

I vote for a meet in the middle after the DFW R4K (mid-Oct through Nov) and a Spring '11 full-fledged hill country ride-in scheduled to enjoy as many wild flowers as possible.

We talked about some plans at the Houston meeting last night.  I have been in contact with the DFW, CenTex, and NEastTex leaders.  We're working up some plans that should meet everybody's requirements.  Announcement to follow soon.

What the heck happened to a spring ride?????
October is too short notice and too full for us to plan a hill country ride. I voted on this thread +2 for a spring ride.
Guess thats what I get for not shouting louder!

What about the fall colors ride? Anything still in planning stage for that?

We received so much positive response for October, that we just had to press forward with it.  We'll work on a spring event as time goes along.  We can have some preliminary discussions about it in Kerrville, so if you're not going to be there, pass your comments on to someone who will be.
