I have posted before my thoughts on modifying the OEM exhaust for more noise/attitude without destroying the system.  This way the system could be restored to the original sound level or close to it.

background:  I reviewed the ragnar cut and steps leading to the ragnar cut as well as reviewing all the other mods from individuals and companies that do this sort of thing.

I took this step by step in my own personal mod experience and did the following on my 98 valk.  Cut the piggies drilled the baffles front and back.  then I drilled additional holes in the rear of the muffler, two per section to allow exhaust to bypass the silencers.  This made a nice difference but not quite where I wanted the sound to be.  So further thinking led me to install short pieces of emt conduit in the silencers.  This blocks the exhaust from entering the silencers and making the noise very close to where I'd like it to be.

I am taking these steps which are very cost effective due to this crazy economy vs going to an aftermarket program like cobra or the valk guys that do this for money.

Another thought I have is to completely block the silencers at the cut piggies and relying on the two 3/4 inch holes per section I have already made for the exhaust to exit the muffler.

I am wondering if any other guys are modifying in a similar fashion.

Since I have not added stacks and still use the OEM muffler chrome I have only spent a few dollars for enhanced noise without destroying the muffler.

Feedback appreciated.
