I am thinking about a set of highway pegs and everything I have read has lead me to a set of kuryakyn 4056. Any comments about wether or not these are the right ones to get would be appreciated.  I ride a standard with the Ultimate Bigboy seat and I am 6'1", 34" inseam.

Thanks

The Kury site says # 4056 are for 1800 Wing.  They might fit the Valk.  Call them.

I know the 4050s will work.

The 4050's work very well on your Valkyrie. I have a really nice set of used ones if your interested in saving some money. PM  for pics and details.... cooldude

I read a review that said that 4056's were designed better than the 4050's.  There was less of a chance of them dragging on turns.  That is why I am wondering about the 4056 model.

My 4050s, with peg extended, cannot drag, unless perhaps I drop the bike over onto the engine guards (and I'm not even sure then).  So long as your Hwy pegs, as mounted, do not extend beyond or below the engine guards, they will not drag.

I have Hwy pegs (on another bike) on the engine guards themselves, and with these my heels can drag at max lean.... but I rarely am on the Hwy pegs when riding at max leans.  So I am dragging my cobra floorboards instead.  LOL

Note.... it's been awhile, but I believe the 4050s need to have the interstate air scoops cut off the underneath engine guards to be mounted where they are supposed to be mounted (mine are).  IF you have an IS, and put the 4050 mounts behind the air scoops, then the chance of dragging is increased, depending on how you position the pegs.

I have the 4056 pegs on my 98 Standard with a factory seat and I'm 5' 11". I love these hwy pegs although I have kissed the pavement with them when pushing the valk.   uglystupid2

Overall the looks are great and they are comfy.      cooldude

I just wanted to throw a vote in here for the Mick-o-Pegs instead of the Kury's. Being able to put your feet forward and lower seems to be the best combination for me.
Take care, Eric
