I've been wanting to do a loop that goes down the East side of Georgia....across the bottom of the State.....and back up the Southwestern side of the State......657 miles worth.....I'll probably spend a night at the bottom of the loop and take my time exploring some of the little towns I haven't been to yet.....I LOVE these kind of rides....I saved the route on my new Garmin Nuvi and just have to figure out when I'm going to do the ride....maybe this Fall when it's a little cooler?..... Undecided....... cooldude

If you are going through Columbus, ride up to Warm Springs GA.  There are some really nice roads in that area, plus you can eat at the Bullock house, really good southern food!  I am not sure if Bainbridge still does a bike rally, but I know they used to.  You may be able to find it on the internet somewhere and maybe incorporate that into your loop.

Are these on your route?

A couple of years ago I rode Hwy 19 right up the middle of Georgia. Really enjoyed the back roads.

On the east side of GA one of my favorite roads is GA 100, check it out.

Last October my son and I rode through some of rural GA.

US 41, US 1  and US 221.

We enjoyed it thoroughly, the only downside was getting stuck behind logging trucks from time to time.

PINE BARK @ 60 MPH HURTS.

We ate at a little hole in the wall in Harlem, GA (near Augusta) that had a GREAT cheeseburger.

Sounds like fun, I've always wanted to do a long costal ride.

I found it with Google Earth.......I LOVE that program....you can have a bird's eye view of anywhere you want to go.....and it's interesting looking at the pictures on there......

I'm going to plan out a North West Georgia ride this Fall too....There's a train ride from Summerville to Chattanooga that I haven't been on yet.....

I believe it ends in Greenville, just north of Warm Springs. The northern part is a better ride than around Greenville.

Hey, you're talking my back door. Know lots of places to ride. Used to put on bicycle races up around Lumpkin, and ride the big bike around SW Ga. My brother has a great place in Talbot County we could stop for a grilled burger or may could talk him into some deer kabobs.
Was up that way last week. Trailered the bike up so I could play some and found the neatest family grocery store on Hwy 208 just east of Talboton. And a covered bridge just off Hwy 19. And the ride across from Pine Mt to Manchester is awesome. Let me know when.
